Love that statue - the composition, and the thought behind it . Let's hope the local yobbos leave it alone!

Very handsome he is too goes well with the Sheffield lasses!! You have an interesting harbour with lots going ,on thanks for sharing! Is it Cardiff?

Hello @FIDGET we were at the aire at St Gengoux le National which is handy for a long voie verte route and also lots of clearly marked cycle routes on side roads ( where we took the photo).

Hi @Jenben

Thanks very much, you have picked some very nice aires ( impressed )

Well, the tide is in, the sun is out, the temperature is high but no one has got their towel on a deckchair yet :)

Is it open to the public yet? Is there a campsite or an overnighter near the harbour ? as hubbie and daughters came to a match there when Wembly was being revamped and said it was a great area.

Hello @FIDGET it is free to stay, really it's just a big car park but marked for camping cars, grass, seats and picnic tables. There is a small toilet block for the voie verte which had water in it, there is a drive over waste spot and you can buy water from a borne but it wasn't working and we didn't need it whilst there. The little town of St Gengoux 500 m walk to the centre is well worth a visit as it has some lovely mediaeval ( I think !) buildings.
Glad you like our choices :)

Thanks again,
now thinking of rearranging our trip down to Limoges via Angers Niort & then going a bit more east on the return than previously planned. Perhaps come back up the east side of Paris.
