A photo of the day thread

Parliament Building in Romania. For those who like trivia….apparently the heaviest building in the world, typical of the shite built in the bad old days of the soviet era

Ran aground in a a yacht entering Nafplion harbour the wrong way round the litle island. Spent an “entertaining” afternoon rowing out in a small inflatable dinghy with an anchor, dropping it, rowing back to the yacht and using it to winch the yacht inch by inch back towards deeper water. Had to repeat the process several times before refloating it. It was stinking hot and i was REALLY ready for a couple of beers by the time we got tied up in the harbour.

Blimey that's a tale to tell over a few beers....🍻

Very atmospheric, I’m betting that it’s not taken in black and white….🤔
When I looked at it after I posted I wondered if people might think I'd changed it to black and white but no it's a normal mobile phone pic. I did slightly crop it though.

Ceaușescu's Palace. Apparently, less than 50% of the building is used. At one time Rupert Murdoch tried to buy it.
seasideBill I hope you're enjoying Romania as much as I did. It's my favourite country for motor-homing. I strongly recommend the Transfagarasan Highway (great for wild camping), the Merry Cemetery and the painted churches.

Yes, planning a longer MH trip to the region next year. Ridiculously cheap place to visit, shame they joined Schengen!

125 tractors doing the annual Louth charity tractor run. Right past our front door and a good turnout. Started in Louth, up the back route to Tetney and into Holton le Clay before taking another route back down to Louth. Amazing, but most videos too large to upload

Walking in the footsteps of Royalty. My Nephew Major D Wilson, translator and stationed overseas in Jordan. Married to his Thailand Army Officer wife and having dinner with the King.

Not bad for a council house kid from the rough parts of Luton. Note one very proud PP Bear.
