Wish that were true of all sites, I can't get into Abbey Wood for my preferred dates next weekStopped on a CMHC site for 1 night on Tuesday before moving on to a nice CL.
The CMHC site in question had a total of 67 pitches, there were just 16 occupied. Speaking to another camper he said he be down the West Country for a rally and had stopped at 2 CMHC sites on his way back home apparently there were less than a dozen outfits on either site. His words “I think the club has shot itself in the foot”
Some also moved on to 2021 and thereabouts where typical top end for CMHC site was around £30. Is inflation 50%?Many on this forum live in the 20th century when a fiver for a CL was the going rate & £15 for a 'site' was splashing out
Caved in.2x daughters and family going to Devon around that time so booked.I have been looking at CMC sites in Devon for the next few weeks. I know it is children’s holiday time but £50+ a night for Hillhead. No way.
But, most of the sites we have used before are full on our dates. One is £40+.
I have looked at more reasonable independent sites but they too are busy. So, given trying to get down and up the M5 this time of the year we will go elsewhere.
CMC must be thinking their troubles are over, but wait until the kids are back.
Anything that’s verifiable. I think you’ll find others giving personal experiences re occupancy rates. No, not a WUM, enlighten you how? What evidence do you require and in what format would you like it? Please be specific.
Not a single post or comment on here is "verifiable" Its a social media site with a substantial amount of highly opinionated people who don't like objective or opposing views. I joint MHF purely for the Morelo section to consult with Morelo owners pre delivery of my new motorhome and found a few of the other threads interesting but didn't anticipate being confronted with such passive superficial hostility. Not good.Anything that’s verifiable. I think you’ll find others giving personal experiences re occupancy rates.
I rest my case!Passive superficial hostility!!!???
What a crock!
I don’t think you have settled in here just yet. You get used to all sorts. Just give it time. For mohos this the the place to be.I rest my case!
I'm sure you are right and appreciate your kind welcoming reply. Its funny as we may routinely end up with the abrasive keyboard warriors as site neighbours, in that environment I suspect they will be sociable, place them in a faceless social media environment and the worst comes out.I don’t think you have settled in here just yet. I used to be a regular on "Club Together" but eventually tired of the "CAMC till we die" brigade and the appalling website. Just dip in infrequently now. A similar view is, however, expressed by a significant minority. Paying through the nose for facilities that we've already got with us seems crazy. Frequently remote locations whose only USP seems to be the quality of the loo rolls.I think if you follow some of the threads on the CAMC Forum Club Together you will see very different views expressed about vfm and occupancy. We never use Club sites now, far too expensive for what they are, and what facilities we use. Also I don’t think the quality is that great any more.
"You said - don't want CAMC pitches". "We did - switch to a load of pods and yurts" I can see something along those lines appearing in the magazine in the not too distant future.Stopped on a CMHC site for 1 night on Tuesday before moving on to a nice CL.

I wouldn't have thought so at prices per night you consider "goodvalue".Its funny as we may routinely end up with the abrasive keyboard warriors as site neighbours,
The fact that a good few others use them he can't be the only one of that opinion, we use CAMC sites if they are where we want to be and we have no other option, they are usually very nice will all facilities and possibly even good value if you want all that they offer, we usually just want a place to park without all the frills but can still appreciate a nice "club site" especially in the winter where I might at least use some electric.Lol …..in your opinion…..only
Are you a committee member ? A large proportion of CAMC members are pensioners and have probably been members for many years such as myself but the price of a night in many of the sites would take a very large portion of their pension, we are not all millionaires. At least the CCC do give their older members an age discount on sites which helps a lot.IMO CAMC sites are highly competitive and great value for the quality and location of the sites and the annual membership is buttons.
Seriously!!!Hmmm a plant in the camp...oh dear
Only having a bit jest mateySeriously!!!

It is time to be honest the CAMC is not, I repeat not a club for members it is a money making machine for a select few and unless it changes its ways it will lose the vast majority of its members.

Never would I have thought my appreciation of the organisation would have provoked such outrageous assumptions. Along with numerous other CL’s there are a number of club sites that suit my needs, mainly good cycling location.Reluctantly in order to see our son last week we coughed up the £47 they wanted at Bristol’s Baltic Wharf.
Unfortunately he had to cancel so we never saw him. Trying to reschedule for Sunday they now want £54! How can they justify the initial cost then the further increase. However we have found a CL near enough to hopefully never stay there again.
We stayed 8 times last year, this was our last and only visit this year.
Your reply suggests you doI don't even know what that means
And they don’t have ‘dynamic pricing’, they publish a list of prices - they’re not frigging easyJet!In the unlikely event that they decide to engage with you Jim the other issue my wife raised was that despite being a member of a club, privately owned sites actually offer more flexibility and discretion when it comes to making amendments. Generally a need to shuffle your dates along is just a quick call to arrange without any penalties unlike the CAMC.
