I had one of these today, which I've not had in a long time. It was really tasty. (y)

There was a pile of them in my local Lidl, so I grabbed a couple. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :drink:

Don’t recall ever having anything like that Jock, but willing to try obviously 🤪

Been sampling some of Aldi's Golden ales, Didnt have my reading glasses on picked up a couple of Summer Ales....They were Peach flavoured, which initially was a shock, but I have to say I enjoyed them whilst cooking the diner.
The other was a Golden Ale, flavoured with Elderflower, bloomin lovely, recommend you all try some for the Summer while it lasts, both beers are 4.5ABV, cost about £1.40 each

A nice long, cold pint of Leffe Blonde, on draft of course. Our local won't sell pints, so I have two halves in a pint glass!! Followed by a pint of Hobsons, a pint of Abbot and another leffe. MMMMM lovely. The foods good too. :thumb:
Why no pints...strange..

My favorite stout, chocolate and beetroot, it poured like blood with a pink head. A small batch once only brew, suggested by the owner of Brew Ambleside - can't get it anymore.

I also like Bad Kitty, first discovered in Kittchen in Hawlshead.

My goto at the moment is Northern Monk Faith hazy IPA although I am developing a taste for the NEIPAs.

Off to St Albans today to check out some tap rooms in search of this week's beer...

Just sampled a couple of pints of this delicious beer but could have downed several more, had the occasion allowed. Got to be in my top 5 favourite beers.

Good old Chimay Bruin, 7%alc.
Strong toasted from Belgium.
Delicious 😋

I have quite an attachment to the Chimay Trappist beers after going there for the Chimay Classic motorcycle races just before Covid hit.

We even had a couple of the Grande Réserve methuselah for the toast at our eldest daughter’s 40th as she (and we!) prefer a good beer to that fizzy stuff. Although at 9% ABV it’s not to be trifled with. Cheers!

I don't get the two glasses on that table Peavy , as there is only enough in that bottle for one to sup. ;)

Great choice btw. (y)

You're right. The missus was having beer with sparky lemon, what we call Shampoo in Spain.
It's nice and fresh, but not to compare with a belgian beer.
We do have good beer here, Estrella Galicia or San Miguel, buuuut...
All my favourite are belgian 🙂 (y)

I've only just found this thread so this beer is not from this week but is worth a mention.
Black Lurcher stout 7%, Abbeydale brewery, one of the most flavourful beers I've ever tasted but quite strong. Available from the Three Stags Heads Inn, Mires Lane, Wardlow SK17 8RW. The only changes this pub has seen since the 17th Century has been the introduction of electricity at some time in the 20th Century, a fascinating place.

I am by no means a lager drinker, but when in Spain and needs must ;) I go for Estrella Levante, Damm, or San Miguel. I cannot stand that stuff they call Cruzcampo. :(

When I can get it, I do like Mahou Negra on tap, (a black lager), and their bottled beer called Mahou Maestra Dunkel. (y)

Abbeydale brewery,
Just about every ale from Abbeydale is nice, with Absolution being a favourite of mine. (y)

I tried a drop of this today, but had to leave before I could try a pint. It was quite nice without being overly fruity or sweet.

For those in need, it is gluten free. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Agree 100% Nobody likes Cruzcampo

Agree again, I forgot to mention Mahou before as one of the decent and underrated ones(y)
