Tonight I'm on a glass of Spanish Tinto. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :wine:

My local gets this in now and again but it sells out extremly quickly so I've now got him to text me when its about to go on the pump.
Needless to say its a fantastic hoppy beer and (too 😉) great for a session.

Ah, you can't just jump in and start drinking!

Dark, light, wheat, these things need consideration, can't go straight from a dark malty beer to an astringent wheat beer, needs some planning!
Nah, get it darn ya neck. 😎😎🥳🥳

Do love the light hoppy beers. 😋
Whereas Steve, I don't. :(
I do like the odd occasional hoppy blonde at around 3.5 - 4.5% ABV, but it's not my usual choice, whereas Theakstones Old Peculier, and Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild @ 6.0 % ABV, is right up.my Street. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Well I do consider myself very lucky then Jock, I actually love good malty beers nearly as much too😋 Old peculiar is a lovely drop to by the way. 😎👍

My local Landlord gets in an array of Real Ales, some of which come from the Abbey Dale Brewery in Sheffield, of which Absolution is an all time favourite. Whilst I do enjoy it at 5.3 % ABV, (used to be 5.6%), a pal of mine who really enjoyed his "Real Ale", described it as drinking bleach. :Eeek: WHAT?:cry:

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Its so strange, when I was a young, daft, practicing alcoholic, I drank nothing but malty ales. Now I can't bide them and only drink light, hoppy IPA ish beers.
If I was given the option of dark/malty/xmasy type beers or nothing, I'd probably die of thirst.

If anyone is ever in the Tarn(81) department in the Castres area, check out. Burtonian beers, a range of english style beers, brewed by an english guy here in france, I normaly go for the summer ale when i have a meal at a friend's cafe (JB's in Labastide-Rouairoux) as it is a light beer, and i am usualy driving.
Here is the Burtonian website.

For you just can’t beat a good pub with Tetley’s or Timmy Taylor hand pulled.

Angel in Scarborough beautiful drop they have both.

Anyone who ever visits Pontefract pay a visit to the Robin Hood pub, they always have a great selection of proper hand pulled ale.

For the likes of me that wont pay Pub prices, stuck at home, its Tribute, Doom Bar, & Stella Artois this week, I have run out of other beers, my cellar is now empty, thinking about starting a crowd funding page, but then again I am not on social media.
I raise a glass to all Funsters, whatever is in it, hope you enjoy.(y)
PS: Have you noticed as I have recently, that not many people have any alcohol in their baskets/trolley at supermarkets recently? I feel people in the queue now notice stare my cans of beer, bottles of wine, and a large box of Stella more than ever before.

There're all jealous "just keep on supping"

I don't know what it's called, but once you have got past the colour it tastes okay. I tried several pints just to confirm it was alright. View attachment 733765

Same here I now seek out abbots, doom bar or old speckled hen

Is Tetleys still going? Not seen any for years.

No Les, but I have noticed that beers I bought before going away for the winter, have all gone up in price, with some as much as anywhere from 20p to 50p a bottle. :(

If you like a nice hoppy ale, Aldi do one called Golden Ale @ £1.19 a bottle. (y) It is brewed by Harpers for Aldi.

I noticed too that their Toffee Ale is back in stock at around £1.39 a bottle. (y)

'Toffee'is often used as a description for a beer, not in a good way usually.

The fashion is for light hoppy ales at the moment and that's for sure. Anything 'amber' or ruby just doesnt sell quite as well.

I’m supping Stella this weekend on my Perfect Draft Machine. Last weekend polished off a keg (5 litres) of Lowenbrau. Love the Stella, it’s direct from Belgium and nowhere near as gassy as what you get here in pubs, cans etc.
Got a Leffe keg lined up next 👍
