Your Beer of the week

I'm over that way on Saturday by bus Steve, so might give it a go thanks. ;)

The words frying pan and fire immediately spring to mind, although the hand pulled Worthington is better than the Creamflow, but still not a lot of flavour IMHO. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)
No worries Jock. Nice little ale house, and that drop in particular was very nice indeed. Hope they still have it on if and when you visit.👍

It’s all change at Wetherspoons where they have done a 20 year deal with Budweiser! John Smiths to be replaced by Worthington.

The change doesn’t effect the real ale choices at your local ‘spoons (they claim) and for me, a Leffe is a better option than what we’re losing 🤪🤔

I bought 2 x bottles of Hatherwood Winter Ale this morning, and I've just had one.

Someone else can have the other one. (n) Not my cup of tea at all. :sicker:

Cheers,

Jock. :)
I bought a couple of those 😵 thinking they sounded nice, when I bought 6 of these, which I know are 😁

These always go down well👍
Being purple it also reminds me of a special lady too💜

Is Leffe going on tap as a keg beer in Spoons then Kev? One of our local boozers had it in on draught...........and was charging almost £8 a pint. :whatthe: It's good, but it's not that good.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Before my 3rd Covid Jab, my Mrs brought me home a box of six Doom Bar bottles (on offer in Tesco) at the time, but not well enough to drink beer yet. do have others in stock but cant face em at the moment.
Enjoy your beers folks, I will try & catch up...Promise!:giggle:
Best wishes.

Visited a craft beer pub in Reading last week. The Nag’s Head just off Oxford Street. Had a good time :drunk:

Started with:
8994-Pressed-Rat-Warthog-real-ale-01-thumb.png

Pressed Rat & Warthog from Triple fff Brewery - ABV 3.8% | £4.20.
“Ruby coloured, dark chocolate aroma with hints of blackcurrant and plum leads to a soft yet full roast flavour, fruit and malt vying with the rounded hoppy bittersweet finish.”

10492-Old-Brown-Mouse-real-ale-01-thumb-1a.png

Old Brown Mouse from Three Blind Mice Brewery - ABV 4.2% | £4.20.
“A traditional English best bitter. Hopped with centennial & US cascade.”

8439--real-ale-01-thumb-1a.png

Broken Dream from Siren Craft Brew - ABV 6.5% | £4.80.
“A Breakfast Stout with a gentle touch of smoke, coffee and chocolate. She binds smoke and coffee aromas with chocolate, milk and oats to create something thick, velvety and slick.”

All three were good 👍🏻

Is this on offer in uk?
Picked it up in Spain, Xmas beer! Will let you know the verdict this week... 😎

Well, disappointed re xmas flavour, not even a hint of cinnamon, xmas pud or anything Christmassy.

But, if you take it as a normal dark ale, a very tasty, rich, not gassy, and very drinkable beer. Not cheap at €4, so prob not indulge again, but glad we tried it!

Been charged €3.50 for a small Leffe in a bar in France a few years ago

I didn't see anyone on it at the time I was in there. I wonder why

In France now and local bar Grimbergen €3.90 for 250ml
There we go TinaL, at today's rate of exchange, that is £3.33p for less than a half pint. :whatthe:
BTW, I like Grimbergen too, and occasionally buy a six pack when shopping in France. ;) Pelforth Brune is another I sometimes indulge in. ;)

Cheers :drink:

Jock. :)

the first beer is bills favorite when in England the second is 3 beers from piduo Calais or marck when we go to France or Spain as he doesn't care much for Spanish beer apart from desperados
