We are in Bedale on a little CL short walk into town, I’m annoyed they’ve put the price up a quid, it’s now £6 a night.
The pheasant pies are beautiful from the butchers there. I’m not pheasant plucker BTW.
Not sure where to next, Leyburn, Masham, Hawes, Settle, Grassington, who knows.

I phoned a site up and the cost was £42 a night, I said “ No not a week, 1 night. Anyway enough of that moaning they have to make a living.

A fortnight off work, a few guinness, a nip of Port, Black Sheep, lovely walks, work phone not ringing. What more could you ask for.

Thank heavens we’re alive.

We love it up there. Stayed a night in Askrigg, home to the Kings Head (Drovers from original Herriot).
Little site (field) behind Crown Inn. Big slope, but nearly flat at the top. Water and EHU, toilet but no showers. Basic but the view is amazing, and in the village.
You might be the only one there too.

Doubt it as I normally pay £30 a night there. But it’s a cracking good site c

Hi.
Favourite run of ours. Leyburn, take the road to Reeth out,up past Bellerby Army firing Ranges ( Stop up on the top and enjoy the view ) drop down into reeth Leave Reeth and go up Arkengarth dale for a bit then turn and go along Low Row . ( Water splashes as in All creatures Great and Small.)Come out at Askrigg. Plenty of pubs doing grub,or,park up and have a brew and a sarnie
We go for the day when up in the area, did it about three weeks ago while over,if you have a growler, walking up on the moors...... It will never want to get back in the motor. :ROFLMAO: .Enjoy, they don't call it G. O. C. " for nothing.

Don't know if you already know but you can stay at the Hawes auction mart.

Yes I know thanks, there’s a sheep sale on tomorrow don’t know if that makes any difference?
You can still stay just it's busy but the carpark is massive, thought the sales were on a Tuesday, love Hawes 👍🏻

Dont think so no .were 6.5 long and i think it was same price for all as your just on the lake edge.

Ross, the owner of Bedale Camping and caravanning C. S. is very amenable to having a Fun Rally there.
Can't do it again next year but surely someone in the North country could put something together.

Bedale nice little town. We’re in the pub now having a well earned drink. Bought another couple of pheasant pies, schnitzel, beef bourbignon, fresh mackerel as it’s market day and a fish wagon there.

On the last photo of the pots there is a cracking restaurant called Tom and Nellies. They don’t take dogs inside unfortunately it looks as all the outside tables have been moved for winter.

I had a week up there doing 'Herriot' locations. Skeldale House in Thirsk, his home and vet practice was to me well worth a visit, as was Aysgarth Falls which is also a lovely walk for dogs.
