We're on our way back from Spain and have stopped on their site in Millau tonight.
I have never used them before so had to get the card from the machine at the barrier.
It was easy with no complications - simply entered my name, postcode, email address and registration number on the touchscreen.
It told me how much it cost to stay the night (plus the one off €5 cost of the card), put my credit card in and within seconds their card came out which I then used to enter the site.
It really was that easy.

Hi , do you know whether they have any stopovers in the UK.Cheers Ronboyracer 😊🐕

They are paid for Aires and you can’t pre book unless you join their ‘priviliges’ pack which is about €20ish. You can view how many spaces are available via the app but cant book without aforesaid upgrade.

Easy enough just to walk over to the machine before leaving and pay what it asks.
Or just drive up to the barrier and bugger off when it opens. I didn't know there was a right way to do it. I'll stick with mine.

Have you actually managed to do that? When i've seen people trying to leave the barrier wouldn't open until they scanned the card at the card reader.

Yes. I employ a servant to waft the card and then hop in as I roll through. Of course we use the card to open the barrier.....

As I said before.... "I didn't know there was a right way to do it".....

Not a chance.. Unfortunately.
We stayed Friday and Saturday nights by the river in Chester last weekend. Ticket on way in Friday afternoon, paid when we left Sunday mid morning no hassle, no issues, five minutes from the centre

I have taken the plunge, we have used them in the past without the the card but have a had a couple of problems getting in or out. I have sent for the card and added a small balance to the transaction, but it's funny what gets your goat, I was quite surprised to see that 1€ had been taken for admin of adding the balance!! thoughts anyone?

Did you use a credit or debit card to add the balance? Some businesses charge a fee for using credit cards including our own DVLA.

We were waiting to get out of one, and must say some of them are very narrow and at an angle, and the bloke in front tried to get out ,his missus stuck the card in and the barrier went up but got stuck on the kerb , well after a bit of toing and froing he reversed off it , and the barrier came down, then it wouldn't let him out as it thought he had gone.
About an hour on the phone later he eventually got it back up again.

Sat on a pitch, little dramas like that to watch play out over a morning coffee are priceless. '\

No they don't it's been illegal for years.
My apologies, they don't charge for consumer credit cards but I believe they still charge for business credit cards.
The other thing is camping car parks is a French company so not covered by British rules I assume, unless of course it was an EU ruling that stopped charges for using a credit card.

We had agro at Souillac some idiot couldn't get out the barrier tried for over 10min. I phoned them they told me I had gone over the 24 and would have to pay for another day. Told them what they could do with that & them it turned out there was a different way out with another barrier I was at the entrance one.
Anyway it was all sorted in a couple of mins on the phone.
When you go in you don't get a ticket like most Aires so didn't really know what time we entered & the exit wasn't signposted.

The app should tell you the amount of time you have left before you have to pay for another 24 hrs.

Didn't know that don't think I've ever bothered to look at the app, only use them very occasionally.
App tells you time entered and where you stayed plus time you exit.

It’s worth checking as once it didn’t register I had left and 4 days later was still taking balance off the account.

Quick phone call and all sorted.

I think you'll find it's later refunded, it'll be a "test" debit

I see your point, but isn't that a shared car park with no facilities at all?

Strange, I can't get to the page now as I've paid the tax, but the way I read it debit cards were free to use and credit cards were charged at 2.50.
Their website says the charge is only for commercial credit cards but that's not how I read it 🤷‍♂️

Were you on the genuine site, a scam one comes up first if you Google car tax.

Not any more. The genuine site comes up at the top now. It used to be the case a few years ago but now been sorted so it doesn't happen.

DVLA charge 2.50 pounds for using anything other than a debit card.
Just taxed mine
They are breaking the law then.
I always pay by cc never been charged.

The only time they can legally charge is if you use a company cc.

I can't get to the page now I've paid but may be someone who is going to pay their road tax in the next few days can have a look.
I'm convinced it said 2.50 for credit cards, but maybe it said company cc
