Had one of them as well in my Mid Life Crisis. But she had to go was like having a Expensive Blonde on my Arm.

Nowt to do with motor vehicles, but as with one earlier post, . . . . .

I wish I still had my '66 Gretsch Corvette.

It was no classic at the time, but to me it was the culmination of many late nights gigs, using a cheap Fender Strat copy, or a borrowed Hofner Verithin.

It would probably only fetch between £900 and £1,200 today, but I loved that guitar, and would never have got rid of it, but the group folded due to the disbandment of 224 Squadron at RAF North Front in Gibraltar, and we lost our drummer and bass player. End of an era !

:crying1:

Escort Mk1 RS2000- fully stage prepared- it was worth so little in 1991 that I broke it for spares.. the motor was highly modified twin 45s, and someone offered me £800 for the motor, gearbox and carbs. Shell went down south, and various mates had the suspension etc…
Talbot Sunbeam Ti - a lotus replica.
Various motorcrossers and FSies etc.
DT125lc…
The list goes on sadly…..

I sold her a few years ago and missed her almost straight away and bought her back last year when she came up for sale again. View attachment 1036368

Most people on here seem to be missing cars, rather than MHs. I have never missed a car, maybe because I had Minis, the odd Fiat Chamois and 127 and then always pedestrian BMWs, 3 private and 2 company.

What I do miss though is my one and only boat - a Westerly 33 (1978) an excellent sea boat as well as being a comfortable liveaboard cruising boat. She saw me safely through about 25,000 NMs over 30 years. Designed by Laurent Giles, who got one of the production boats as his design fee - no wonder it was 'right'.

I only parted with her because trying to run the MH and the boat when living in Poland and the boat being berthed in Greece was not practical. The MH won because after 30 years seeing Europe by sea, I am enjoying seeing the interior as well as the coast.

The boat is now in the hands of a good friend, who would have received her when I pass anyway. He is a trained engineer, but also a good sailor who has run boatyards and can do any maintenance needed on any boat. We all met up at the boat in Greece last year, so she has not completely left my life.

1978 Porsche 911. A pretty cr@p car but they're worth silly money nowadays

I’d luv a 911, 70s targa in viper green. I’d die a happy man!
My biggest regret is selling my TR4A

Hi.
" In the dry ;) "...... Mate and i had Reliant GTE Scimitar's, he changed his for a TVR... When asked how good it was he said. " When driving in the wet and putting power on. One minute your looking out the windscreen, then passenger window then drivers window.... Its VERY exciting to drive.." :ROFLMAO: 🚑(y).
My favourite.....DON'T laugh. 2.8 Vauxhall Frontera. Vauxhall put some Isuzu engines in the last batch of the old shape and i got one. 6 years of magical motoring. It did what it said on the tin.Terrific work and play horse.
