Where does your forum name come from?

Our first motorhone was a Hymer MLi which we called “Millie” (as in MiLi) So original user name was MillietheHymer.

as ever the layout on the first Motorhome was not all we thought it would be and we changed to a Hymer Duomobile. But still called her Millie as somehow calling the Motorhome Millie just kind of worked for us

Plans change and we sold the Duomobile and were (motor)homeless for about 18 months.

We then bought our current van, which is an Autosleeper and obviously the Hymer part of the moniker wasn’t appropriate.

we kicked around a few names and then suggested by Minxy we went for Millie The Moocher. But for some reason couldn’t get the system to accept it so shortened it a bit.

we still call the van Millie but also refer to it as TheMoocher just so we know specifically which van we are on about

It’s all explained in the signature below!!! 😇
Looks like the signature doesn’t display on the mobile app! For clarification, it says :-

My family say I'm a crabbit, grumpy old git but I prefer irascible!

I needed to join Equity but my name was already registered (clue... a big band leader) so I registered "JJ" which was the name the boys at the school where I worked called me. (All staff were known by their initials.)

I love the fact that most folk don't actually know my real name... like Clint Eastwood in the Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

"JJ... easy to spell but hard for the Bailiffs to track down..."

JJ

Mad Irish friends are to blame for my nickname, and now a Forum name. Long story, don't ask.

It all began when my brother gave me a pub for my birthday...

I said, "Don't ask."

I used to own a American RV. (y)
So did I. A Winnebago warrior R52. Reasonable size in Europe, a minnow in the USA.Sold it on due to covid restrictions. It’s in the avatar.

Sorry this was posted elsewhere a week ago, worth another read though :giggler:

At the age of 14 I had the ambition of being a chef in the merchant navy, so I dropped the technical subjects at school and took the home economics course. Three guys and 21 girls in the cooking class and I was so shy, if a girl as much as looked at me I'd blush uncontrollably, it was so obvious.
One day I brought in my Alice Cooper cassette, 'Billion Dollar Babies' to let my mate in the class borrow it. The following week he brought it back and was handing it back to me when one of the girls grabbed it out of my hand. She then passed it to another girl then before I knew it I was in the middle of the girls as they passed it back and forward. Then Liz got it, she had the biggest boobs in the high school. I pleaded with her to give me the cassette, then she did the unimaginable, she stuck it up her jumper and said, 'Come and get it'. So I did. :Eeek:

I got my hands on my Billion Dollar Babies :giggler: :whistle2: I don't know who was more embarrassed, then one of the other girls called out,
'Look at Wee Bold Davy!' The name has stuck with me ever since. The girl who gave me the nick name went on to become the cabin crew training manager for a major holiday airline. When I see one of their aircraft it all comes flooding back. Happy days ;)

We are Judith and Martin. Martin joined FUN as jumar a mix of our names and a piece of climbing equipment. We both were/are 🤞climbers) I posted more than he did (still do, probably) and one person, a good friend even, thought he was ragging something Martin had posted , when it was me. I then got my own username and jumartoo was born 🙂
