Where did you turn the corner and go "Wow!"

Niagara Falls. It just appears out of nowhere and then Wham!!!!! 1985.

Been twice since. I've been all round the world. 35 countries and seen some sights. But the falls gave the biggest wow.

Agreed. I thought I was approaching Tewksbury Weir then Wham! I saw the Falls in 1996 in the winter when I was working in Ontario. Ice had narrowed the exit so the flume was magnificent! No rides in the water though...

The Grand Canyon at sunrise before the hordes arrive , even better the north rim

Agree. My first view was from the north rim.

I was a 45 year old bloke. I cried. Proper tears.

It’s literally breathtaking in beauty. And some of it is a billion years old.

That's just about the only item left on my Bucket List. I managed the Kennedy Space Centre last year.
Perhaps one day.

Oh, and I forgot this one...NZ of course!

I think if you have been fortunate enough to visit New Zealand 🇳🇿 every corner you turn in the South Island is a wow 😀
I completely agree. We spent 6 weeks there two years ago. Stayed in backpackers accommodations. Cheapest food was monkfish, had it four times a week.

Hi Violet, Iceland sounds sooooo exciting, I've had a couple of nights in Reyjkavic to see the Northern lights and would love to see more of the Island in the Summer months. I wondered about taking the van but didn't really think it would be possible, I see that you are in the UK too, can I ask what route you took to get there and how long the crossings were. Thank you! :)
We used to do Harwich to Esbjerg, then drive to Hirtshals in north Denmark. From home that was less than 5 hours driving. Then the Smyril Line ferry from Hirtshals, stopping at the Faroes, then on to Iceland. Depending on the date it can be two or three nights on the ferry. The Harwich ferry now doesn't go to Esbjerg so it is a longer, but interesting, drive through Germany and Denmark.
Ferry + cabin is expensive but if you can go for long enough it works outs ok. Camping and food (apart from eating out) were reasonable but I think camping has gone up since our last visit (we made four) in 2016. But you can still buy a camping card which gives you 28 nights at selected campsites for about €159. Do look it up and let me know if you decide to go.

Sounds like a trip and a half 😊

After hearing what a storm did to a hire car over night I wouldn’t be taking my Moho there.

It striped the paint off one side of it over night 😳

I think I would say 'wow' if I saw a car stripped of paint by a sandstorm!
But yes, it can happen especially on the south ring when a storm is forecast. Iceland needs care. We once had to hole up for two nights when locals told us not to travel or we would have our paint stripped. When we did move on part of the road had had the tarmac stripped off it. But if you're sensible and well insured it was a wonderful place for a campervan. Think there might be too many there now, reminiscent of the NC500 perhaps.

Thank you Violet that's so helpful, what an adventure I will definitely look it up for next year. The camping card sounds great value. There will be so many wow moments to explore, and know my other half will absolutely love Iceland! Thanks for the info!

Niagara Falls, Victoria Falls, Iguzua Falls seen all and all spectacular, Swallow Falls, erm not too bad:LOL:

WOW WOW WOW! That is truly stunning - did you go in your MH? And what time of year? I've heard some months are better than others?
Around the end of February. Sadly we've not been in the motorhome. It was a long time ago but I was stationed just north of Bardufoss for winter warfare training and I sloped off with a mate for the weekend. We didn't think Tromso was anything special but the lights were great.

The first time I walked onto Narbonne beach from the Aire in full sun, looked left and saw snow capped mountains shimmering in the distance!

It is indeed ! Definitely the most beautiful country in the world . There is beautiful areas in all countries but it is the volume of beauty around every corner .Have had two motor biking holidays if 1 month each and so lucky to have seen it

Quote from Mrs Emmit motorhoming around the South Island,
"Wouldn't a Tea Room around here be a good idea"

I gently pointed out that we hadn't seen another vehicle in the last hour. Who would be the customers?

My biggest wow moment was just after sunrise on Loch Lomond at Balmaha with the mist rising off the water while sitting fishing for pike from our wee boat. It didn't seem to matter if we caught fish or not. It was such a privilege just being there

I would love to use the Moho in Iceland.
We spent around 5 days there and used the local travel company to “see the sights”
