Niagara Falls. It just appears out of nowhere and then Wham!!!!! 1985.
Been twice since.
The Grand Canyon at sunrise before the hordes arrive , even better the north rim
Agree. My first view was from the north rim.
I was a 45 year old bloke. I cried. Proper tears.
It’s literally breathtaking in beauty. And some of it is a billion years old.
On our bucket list!

I completely agree. We spent 6 weeks there two years ago. Stayed in backpackers accommodations. Cheapest food was monkfish, had it four times a week.I think if you have been fortunate enough to visit New Zealand every corner you turn in the South Island is a wow
He certainly isYou are punching above your weight there.
Good for you

We used to do Harwich to Esbjerg, then drive to Hirtshals in north Denmark. From home that was less than 5 hours driving. Then the Smyril Line ferry from Hirtshals, stopping at the Faroes, then on to Iceland. Depending on the date it can be two or three nights on the ferry. The Harwich ferry now doesn't go to Esbjerg so it is a longer, but interesting, drive through Germany and Denmark.Hi Violet, Iceland sounds sooooo exciting, I've had a couple of nights in Reyjkavic to see the Northern lights and would love to see more of the Island in the Summer months. I wondered about taking the van but didn't really think it would be possible, I see that you are in the UK too, can I ask what route you took to get there and how long the crossings were. Thank you!

Ferry + cabin is expensive but if you can go for long enough it works outs ok. Camping and food (apart from eating out) were reasonable but I think camping has gone up since our last visit (we made four) in 2016. But you can still buy a camping card which gives you 28 nights at selected campsites for about €159. Do look it up and let me know if you decide to go.

Sounds like a trip and a half

After hearing what a storm did to a hire car over night I wouldn’t be taking my Moho there.
It striped the paint off one side of it over night

Around the end of February. Sadly we've not been in the motorhome. It was a long time ago but I was stationed just north of Bardufoss for winter warfare training and I sloped off with a mate for the weekend. We didn't think Tromso was anything special but the lights were great.WOW WOW WOW! That is truly stunning - did you go in your MH? And what time of year? I've heard some months are better than others?
WHOOO!!! That is beyond wow its absolutely stunning.Norway I'd sensory overload but the northern lights in Tromso......

Was that in an comfirtmatic gear Ducato or the new 9 speed box ?When I did my first 300mph 1/4 mile run, trouble is after you turn and stop....nobody is there.........you get out jumping up and down on your own

But yes, it can happen especially on the south ring when a storm is forecast. Iceland needs care. We once had to hole up for two nights when locals told us not to travel or we would have our paint stripped. When we did move on part of the road had had the tarmac stripped off it. But if you're sensible and well insured it was a wonderful place for a campervan. Think there might be too many there now, reminiscent of the NC500 perhaps.
