Where did you turn the corner and go "Wow!"

This always comes to mind, stopping the van at a viewing point in Norway overlooking Geraingerfjord

we then drove down the mountain pass and camped with a nice view of the cruise liners.

The Autoroute Blanche to Chamonix, exiting the tunnel on to the spectacular Nantua viaduct. The most spectacular views all along this autoroute, culminating in the glistening snows and glaciers of Mont Blanc.

Every time we travel this route to go skiing, it’s at this point we alway say wow we’re finally in the alps.

Amazing change in scenery from entering/exiting the tunnel.

Not Moho related but after viewing the book of Kells went upstairs to the university library. No idea why but was struck motionless and in tears at the view of thousands of books on handmade shelves.
Also the beach at Benodet when the water in the evening was luminescent .

Among so many memories of my road trip in Western USA in 2010, this is one place that really "wowed" me. Crater Lake in Oregon, the deepest, bluest, clearest water I think I've seen and this was just one of the views from the road that goes all around the rim. Fond memories of the whole 6 month trip!

I haven’t got pictures to hand (they’re on an old PC) but my trip to the motorcycling Mecca which is Sturgis in South Dakota in 2006 blew my mind. The most memorable was coming through one of the tunnels on the needles highway which if you stopjust before it and look through you have Mount Rushmore in the exit, it’s like a big picture frame! Others include Crazyhorse, Badlands, Yellowstone, Cody, Devils tower, Spearfish Canyon and my favourite place in the whole world Deadwood.

When I met my wife on a Blind Date,it was arranged that we meet on a corner as I approached I thought I had been stood up until I turned the corner and that was WOW moment 54 years ago. am I a bit soppy or what:unsure::LOL:

If you are in the south west of france take a route via

A little touristy bit an incredible view
I was umming and arrghing about which one or two to post and Rocamadour was one of them.
We found it after a long journey over mont dore on our first trip to France and parked the van and i got on the bike to go see the town, returning immediately to tell her that she wont believe what i just saw.

Turning the corner up near Nantua we found the memorial to resistance on the main road.
Sunset and sunrise on the top of Ventoux, but wife preferred a sunset at Montpeyroux over the volcanoes
Alpe D'huez waking up above the clouds and looking across at the other mountains.

For the last twenty plus years I have always had a 'Wow' moment everytime when I walk(only access except by sea) across the ridge and look down at my favourite beach in Greece, and the world.

It is a 400m strip of golden sand backed by Tamarisk trees and with a small family taverna set in the sand, tucked against the rocks. It is jut a jewel.

The sun sets into the sea and all is well with the world.

That was in a 4x4 car ... not taken the MH on the Bealach and don’t plan to. We’re heading to Applecross for lunch on Sunday but will take the coast road both directions.
Have done it on a motorbike while touring - but we were young and foolish then ;)
