Where are the Funsters?

Back at Zadar Croatia having just been to Sarajevo Bosnia . We are on our 3rd month in Europe 2 months to go .
Are you avoiding the Schengen countries given how long you’ve been in Europe and the planned duration? Have fun!

We are also in the Dordogne following the river to bordeaux and then heading in the direction of home, but as we don't have a sticker we are travelling incognito it seems.

Not really avoiding Schengen although it’s easy to do . I got a 6 month French tourist visa before leaving UK so am pretty flexible as to where I go . I did spend three weeks in Slovenia and that country is defo one I will return to, stunning and far less touristy than Croatia imho.

I still say that Macron caused so much bad feeling that a huge amount of brits are shunning France, my brother will cross/stay where he has to, but otherwise goes elsewhere. 2020 forced us to go to Germany, & what a beautiful country it is. Earlier this year we drove around the Baltic, across & up to Finland & back through Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland ....it's soo much more interesting than France & most locals happily speak English!

Staying in the UK this year. Earlier 7 weeks Devon & Cornwall, then 10 days new forest, back home for two weeks, now in the delightful North Cambridge area, loving every minute.

Sat here just having coffee and pastries watching the world go by,
Rothenburg ob der Tauber😍😍

Been on a site in Beaulieu sur Dordogne since Tuesday. Unusually, there seem to be more UK vans than French and Dutch. Walking round, I haven’t seen a single MHF badge.
Met a couple from Barnsley (Kev and Kath) who don’t seem to be Funsters.

Where are you all? 🤔
Hello,

We are travelling through Norway and have seen only one UK reg in the two weeks we've been over. We have been so lucky with the weather, blue sky everyday, so far.

It's extremely expensive, so living frugally. Trying to save Dosh by using park4night for the free park ups.

Safe travelling all

Cheers

Waiting for two things.
1. Warranty work to be done on the van
2. Son and DiL to have their new baby then piss off back to Dubai so we can get back on the road. (only joking about them going back).

Hi we are currently in Aups by the pool on lovely site very close to the village 28 degrees then into Nice area tomorrow

On the one occasion in 2017, when we went to Greece in the motorhome, we were amazed how, despite the seeming chaos at the loading terminal, all vans were eventually loaded and departure was on time. This was true for both the Italian and Greek ports Ancona and Patras.
Enjoy your trip. Our Greek trip to the Peloponnese has been the highlight of our short motorhoming experience.

Trier Germany, weather has gone overcast today, heading north up the Mosel later.
It was nice to meet you this morning, albeit very briefly as we were just leaving the aire at Trier but stopped as we saw your Funster stickers 😺

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

We are now on the aire at Minheim with a river side pitch, all for €8.30 a night.

Looks beautiful where in Northern Spain please?😎

It was in a tiny hamlet in the Babia y Luna Parque Natural. Not official parking but tolerated. An old, dog walking, local keeps his, unofficial, eye on the area. He scowled at us the first morning, then saw that we litter picked rather than leaving litter. We spoke to him and we are invited back whenever we want 😊😊.

I can send you the coordinates if you are interested, or they are on P4N.

what's the site called pal ?

Talking to campsite owners in Germany, Austria and Italy during the summer, they commented on how few UK vans they were seeing.

On a large site on Rugen (NE Germany), we were the first UK van of the season, at the end of July!
We saw lots of Germans and Dutch.
A few French, the odd Scandinavian, the occasional Italian.

But not a single UK van for the first 3 weeks of our trip, not even on the road!
Over the following 6 weeks we spotted maybe 10 vans in total, and spoke to several of the owners when we saw them on sites. (No Funsters though)

All of Europe seems to be on 'staycation' this summer and not venturing far from home.
Givin the rising costs I think this will be the case for 2023 and 2024 as well.

We are in France, Vosges region. Seen only a couple of UK MHs in the last week but we were waved at today by a French van!
We find most of the French wave back

At home, drafting legal papers because that is what I do for a living.

☹️

We’re in beautiful sunny Northumberland- the dogs are having a blast on the beaches!
So are we but inland moving on tomorrow back to Scotland. Unfortunately we couldn't get booked into Beadnell.

Toledo Spain 😬
