Where’s nice and hot

Stop telling us what you do and start telling us where you do it..
Wait a min that sounds rude..
Let me rephrase it: what’s your valeters name and phone number?
If you google motorhome valeting Pocklington then it will pop up, but your avatar doesn’t say where you are.

I had a supposed valetter in to deep clean parents van before disposal

He had no idea what he was doing he had only ever cleaned cars

After 4 hours and little/no progress I gave him £80 to clear off I don't think he'd ever cleaned a kitchen of any sort

He was surprised when I explained I expected the roof washed. When he did the outside.

I have the attitude itmy dirt I'll clean ....when and if

Pray tell more! Mobile wash visit? Where, who, how much, telephone number!
You could be voted hero of the month!
If you search on Facebook Top2Tow car wash his page comes up. Depends where you live. Was £70 last year...He doesn't use a pressure wash. BUSBY..

The buyer is taking it next week, whoo hoo that’s quicker than I expected,, so the trip to Morocco cancelled as is the Habitation and service.
I hope who ever buys this gets years of trouble free service, I have been totally honest and given the buyer a list of all the issues.
Will we buy another swift? No, will we buy another motorhome? I think not, we will have to see….

I'm glad it's turned out OK for you, and hope you will be back in the future.

TBH, with the state of the market at the moment, I think you've done quite well. Given the issues you have had, £78k after 2 years is more than I thought you would get.

I don't think anyone reading your saga would buy a Swift now! ::bigsmile:

Good luck.

I didn’t sell it to Lowdhams, I would dig my eyes out with a blunt spoon before deal with them.
My sweetie really wants us to have a unit, she has spoken to a lot of people and done some serious research. She thinks we should buy a Autotrail VLine 365 Sport van conversion, she says they are the most reliable on reviews and her research. So I’m asking has anyone got one?

My pretty loves being chauffeured around beautiful countryside, we are at the point of discussing the pros and cons, at the moment my pretty has more pros than I have cons.. my cons revolve around how bad Swift and Lowdhams are, her pros include weeks away in nice warm countries, eating in unusual restaurants, seeing castles and chateaux’s and meeting lovely people, who are kind and helpful.
My con was those people drink my wine and whiskey, she said I’m mean, tight as a ducks bottom, and it’s only booze, arghhhhhhhh I’m not winning this pro/con thingy! It looks like I’ll have to buy another year in mohofun.
Mmmmm I’ll hide my whiskey!

:welcome4: back even though you never really left

Well last night the pro/con was not resolved. I still think what ever bag of rubbish we buy, I’ll still have major issues, that I have to sort out. £87k on a smart camper is fine, 1 spent £100k on a bag of swift rubbish.
Who’s to say where we go next the hassle won’t be the same!
This is countered by the fact that it would be lovely if we get the holidays in Scotland, Yorkshire, Cornwall, Ireland, Northern France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Morocco, and over towards Bulgaria etc. but these were our plans with Poppyllll but she spent more time in Lowdhams than we spent holidaying in it.
After getting the best price for Poppyllll do I want to try again. I’ve just cancelled the Morocco trip, we are going to the villa first a few weeks.
Currently, I’m laid on my belly with my arms up my back and my pretty is twisting my arms saying do you surrender! Everytime I say let’s talk she slaps me and says surrender pipsqueek!

Last week we were in fuerteventura and we noticed an ever increasing nuber of motorhomes as each year passes . The temperature was very acceptable, better than an English summer. We were on a package fly holiday .

You sound as though you are enjoying that! ::bigsmile:

Just give in, you know she will get her way in the end. You just need to decide the price of submission

I must admit, it was errrrrr interesting. Try it…
So I lost, yep I lost big time, we have bought a new Autotrail VLine 635 Sport. She has tested it, laid down on the bed, said it’s comfortable, made me lay on the bed, found it comfortable.
she had measured everything, and walked up and down it so much it’s worn a carpet out, she’s stood in the shower, sat on the toilet, swung the passenger seat around and had the tables up, bought a small trailer for our outside stuff, had a tow bar fitted, outside shower and 3pin too. Yup she’s just spent £80+k of my hard earned. As she said “it’s only your money” ..
So I’ll be able to keep supporting this site at renewal. Whoo hooo…

Blimey, you have been busy.:hot:

We need an efficient go-getter like your Missus to run the NHS! ::bigsmile:

You'll have to update your profile on here now as well.
I’m not calling the thing poppy 5! It’s worse than thunderbirds! 5-4-3-2-1 and off we go in poppy? Oh no we don’t, oh yes we do, oh no we don’t!…Na.
I might just call it… “Jesus not again”! Or “she made me do it” or, “she flys like a bird over beachyhead”
I just pray that this does not cause us to suffer like the Swift has.

Or 'My Pretty', or 'I surrender' or 'Pipsqueak' - to quote your previous poss. All part of the decision process!

Well it’s gone, it went at 10.45 this morning, I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
So our trip to Morocco CANCELLED, our trip to a sunny camp site darn Sarth! CANCELLED. Our final holiday in poppyllll no more. BUT, whooo hooo I’ll still be on this site, yeah!
Well we did it, I could not put a good enough argument against her fluttering eyes, her puckered lips, her tease me eyes! Yep I was putty in her hands, she took my wallet, seductively popped the stud and slid my credit card out, quite majestically actually, and said, in a deep sexy voice! “I know your PIN number honey”, ahh well like a chocolate Easter egg in front of a roaring fire, I melted! .. so we bought the Auto-trail V line 635 - 9 speed Auto - 140 bhp - 2.3 diesel. In white - porcelain coating, extra battery, external shower, external 3 pin, external bbq gas point, WiFi. 2 free habs and 1st Service at 2 years.
But it’s not here until end April.
So it will give me time to pray to the bid Moho trouble free running protector up there some where, please master let me have no problems with this one. Please I beg you!

I really really hope it goes well for you with the AutoTrail.

However, I think you ought to plan for a snagging list and of course it is the service you get with that snagging list that will be what counts. It would be unrealistic to expect it all to be sorted unless you pay someone to actually use it for you first and take it back to be sorted.

You could always advertise on here ……….🙂

The dealers call it a "Nagging list"🙄
I bought 6 new cars 2016/17/18/22/23/25, SEAT, Ford, BMW, Peugeot, SEAT, Ford.
I bought 3 motorhomes 2016/2020/2023 and now number 4 April 2025.
It is only the Swift Kontiki bought in 2023 that has suffered such a massive list of faults, ok under warranty the faults have been repaired or replaced and whoever gets it might just get the best motorhome on the road.
But vehicles bought at half to a third of the price of the Swift have ran successfully without a single issue, no snagging, only 1 recall to check the BMW heat exchanger which was fine.
So Swift needs to get its act together, it can’t put vehicles on the road that literally drop to bits within weeks of buying it.
On many levels they are wrong and will be dragged through court for compensation and loss. I may not win but the bad publicity will hurt. Both Swift and Lowdhams.
It always seems to be the case that it’s not until an issue arises that you find that many others are suffering the same issues.
I can’t find any complaints regarding the Autotrail V-line 635 but if I do I will take note.

Buy s/h..Not everyone's cup of tea because its small..underpowered and old BUT purchased it 9 years ago for 15k..28000 k two owners
.9 years later 82 k..
Other than regular maintenance it has been trouble free...Never failed an MOT..never broken down..Has taken us twice most years (once Covid year) to Southern Spain...Would still sell for 15k but we love it so won't be swapping it..BUSBY.

I have read all about the Autotrail V-line 635 sport, all the pros and cons, we have tried out the bed, we are having 4 stablizer wooden legs made to slot onto the pull out bed base so they can come out about six inches to make the two single beds wider. Yet still have space to walk between them. We intend to use sleeping bags and not have a double bed most of the time. We are having a factory fitted tow-bar for when we go some distance so we can pull a little trailer with our chairs, extra equipment, bbq etc.. we can leave the trailer on the pitch with wheel locks while we go into the village or town for dinner in the van.

It’s quite sad that we are not overly excited, when we bought the Kontiki we were whooping around and couldn’t wait to get off and holiday in it. The dreams shattered within a very short time.
We will hope that we have a good start, we plan to shoot off to Scotland and Wales, maybe Cornwall, then head to Europe in September.
We’ll see. If once again we are plagued with issues, that will be the end of camping for us.

Right, we made it to Calais, drove down from Stoke to Folkestone set off at 08.00 well we actually got to the main road, turned around and went back for her sunglasses. Anyway, we got off at 08.00 and arrived at 12.50, 4hours 50 mins with a 30 min stop for breakfast, we got our duty frees at LeShuttle, and my pretty went to take her meds! Opps she forgot to put them in the car. So 30 mins before departure, we were assisted by security to leave the compound and drive to Folkestone.
What a helpful and kind crew the border force staff are, they let us follow to the reception, get a leave pass and return pass, gave us directions to the nearest chemists and told us how to get emergency meds.
Although this took 3 hours Asda pharmacy manned by snails, my pretty was issued emergency meds and we returned to leshuttle at 18.00, we got the first train, 18.46 - 4 hours late.
But I have to shout out for the border force staff who were still there on our return and ensured we had succeeded. The border force staff get a bad press, but these lot proved their worth ten fold.

So it’s tomorrow morning, it’s freezing cold, only 1189 miles to go.. hope it warms up a bit..

NHS - emergency meds prescription. If ever you need it. It’s simple, you find a chemist and get their post code, you put in google “NHS emergency medications”, you complete your request filling out simple boxes and whoosh, the chemist gets your prescription. How good is that!

Well we are in bourges 18000 in the Mercure hotel, it’s 15c so it’s a lot warmer than Calais. Just booked the restaurant, le petite plats de la bourbon..whoo hoo looks great. Oh yeah I also have a large beer… ha ha.

Hey i said I sold my van, the buyer was a agent, they sold it the day I delivered it to them, last Thursday.. now that was quick..
