What's the best thing you have added to your motorhome?

Calamine lotion. If you've ever had prickly heat you know this is the only solution, but it's not available in the EU. :giggle:

I checked the ingredients and I think that any proper pharmacist should be able to make it up.

This, it gives me wireless / wired Apple Car Play so I don’t have to use the rubbish in built Tom Tom navigation. 5 mins to fit and I can move it to the next MH. The white wire on the left is just plugged into the units usb for charging the phone. Has built in speakers but connects via Bluetooth to output sound through factory fit head unit.

Solar and Lunar panels. Charging 24/7
We already have both of those but are thinking of adding Cloud Power Top-up.

Apparently it absorbs the electrical energy, usually used to form thunder and lightning, found in the clouds and transfers it to the batteries in the motorhome.

With several million volts available we should never be short of power. If any members are parked near us just bring a bucket and we can give you some of our spare energy to take away and pour into your batteries, if they are easy to access,

As part of the deal we got solar, a second battery and the like thrown in so I didn't actually add them myself so it would have to be the Gaslow cylinders.

The thing that was best personally though was the tea, coffee and sugar caddy set on a little shelf, once that goes in it turns a motorhome into OUR motorhome.😄

Every modification that I have made to it I hope!

Not one thing, but a collection of things bought and fitted at the same time to make the van never need a hook up.

600W of solar panels, integrated 25/50A B2B/MPPT, 200ah of lithium and a hardwired 2000W invertor.

Utterly transformed the van. Never again any power anxiety, never again any need to hook up and pay for electricity, no matter what the load or the season.

Sitting in the van right now, off-site in a deserted aire in a french village drinking an espresso from the 240V pump machine with coffee from our 240V grinder and hot frothy milk heated in our 240V microwave, watching the UK news on our 240V TV and 240V sat decoder with SWMBO drying hair with her full power 240V hairdryer. From about a week ago there is now enough solar to even run the 3 way fridge on 240V all through the day. In summer, the system is powerful enough to run the air conditioner for up to 6 hours every day without depleting the batteries, all completely off grid.

There is an expression ‘there is no such thing as too much solar’ - it is absolutely true. When you have the energy you can find all sorts of uses for it, for example, before we sold up in UK, we last year used the van system to power the house (lights fridges, microwave and hot water boiler) during a 3 day power cut. When the solar/batteries couldn’t keep up in the evenings we just ran the engine for a couple of hours :)

E&P and recently an Ecoflow River 2 pro which I'm very impressed with - so I dont need to worry about ehu to charge up my elderly mothers mobility scooter! soon to purchase a solar panel to use with it - yes I could have built it all in, but I can also use it around the house/garden as well :-)
