What tyres should I buy

From another site
Tyres for camper
I have a 4.5 ton motorhome and I always used to have Camper tyres fitted but have now gone over to using commercial all season tyres. The tyres I use are VREDSTEIN COMTRAC 2 they are a Dutch tyre and excellent tyre with the added benefit of being All season with the 3 peaks snowflake symbol and M&S. So if for instance you were driving in Germany you would be able to use these in the snow as they strict rules on tyres in the snow. They are also brilliant in the mud. The size of mine is 235/65 R16C 115/113. You can also run these at lower pressure than camper tyres. You can get the pressures off a website called TyreSafe. I run mine at 53 psi front and 69 psi rear. I did quite a bit of research before getting these and they have been on my motorhome for almost 2 years now and done about 16000 miles. I bought them from Abbey Tyres Bishops Waltham and 4 tyres were £600 fitted. I went over to Commercial tyres because I was struggling to get All season Camper tyres, these tyres are also hard wearing
I also put VREDSTEIN All season tyres on my Audi Q5 as I was so pleased and bought them from Camskill who delivered to Abbey Tyres for me and they just charged me to fit them

What pressures are you using in the fronts?
The answer should be go to a weigh bridge and ask the manufacturers. Having said that, just before I sold the last van I fitted a set of Conti CPs a.nd they were the dog's. Their tech guy got back to me in a couple of hours. Michelin not quite so great with new mh.

I've been told to steer well clear of Weigh bridges......might find out something I don't like!
What the eye doesn't see the...well you know the rest!

Sorry but I seem to have upset you somewhat, I think that you maybe missed the 'Fun' direction of my comment!

Possibly I could atone by passing on some important, but worrying, information about tyre inflation.

I have been using a reasonably expensive handheld tyre pressure gauge with a digital readout. We used our motorhome last weekend for the first time in many months. One of my Many tasks was to check the tyre pressures.
Drat, I couldn't find my super electronic tyre pressure gauge, so I sought out my 'Snap On' tyre pressure gauge that I used when I raced Karts. One of the most accurate gauges one could buy.
Imagine my absolute horror when I checked the tyre pressures...... Over 10 psi more than they should have been.
Now THAT is a 'ridiculous comment' had it not been TRUE!

Check your tyre pressure gauges.

Stay Safe and have Fun.

We currently have Michelin 215/70r15cp on our MH and are thinking of changing them at the end of summer as they are 5year old. Any other alternative make can anyone recommend ?
