What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

McLoius have used a piece of wood to cover the wires in the toilet area. The wires are for the light on the grab handle which is on the otherside of the wall by the hab door However it really does foul on the loo. You end up with either your knees against the door or the lid falling against your back. Solution was to reduce the size of the piece of wood to just a strip of edging tape. Easy fix for a bit of leg room

80cm Oyster Dish stuck in the up position so had to borrow a too short a step ladder and climb on the roof, borrow a 10mm Allen key to release the dish to the closed position. Off to get it fixed tomorrow.

Just finished a job that was started/ almost done a while back ,just waiting for a Mate n Lok connector to allow for a quick reinstatement of existing. I used to have one mains socket on rear wall, previously added a twin mains outlet in centre of van to the CBE mains unit 3 way (3 way mate n lok but also sold as a 5 pack for CBE from parts suppliers) At front added a socket powered by the inverter. Now disconnected the rear socket from the cbe and With a manual switchover switch can now use rear on Inverter or EHU. And the rest of the Ehu stuff unmolested. The use of the same connector allows a rapid return to standard if required.
SWMBO is now happy she can run a short cable through window to the washing machine outside without a long trailing lead from front. Whats the next job that doesnt require grovelling underneath.

Bought a spare wheel-which hopefully will never get used-since I have had to change a wheel on the last 3 vans we have had and I don’t like the idea of travelling without one. The little cans of goo and pump don’t fill me with confidence……

Well I would not call it fixed but the cylinder head gasket went on the way back from salt fleet gale
So I followed Wildman’s advice and put sum kseel well blow me apart from all the rusty water stains under the bonnet you wouldn’t think it had happened watt the hell is that stuff probably gummed up the work’s but seem to have worked Frome stemming traction engine to purring petrol will give it would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it my shelf a good run today to try it out on to eBay
fitted a maintenance charger that works on the engine battery when plugged into the EHU

Fixed a sticky toilet pump, managed to free off the impeller with a small screwdriver then doused with wd40, seems ok at present, will get a spare when we return home.

Been isolating in the MH for the last week as tested pos for covid 🙁

Plus side is I got to fix a few snags while here

Found the heating vents weren't very good. Discovered heat was escaping from a gap by a cupboard. Took some panels out and found the heating pipe had come out of the vent so sorted that. Also found another on the boiler was half out as well so all works better now

Next the shower was pathetic, hot water was barely coming out, been like that since we got it. Thought the pump was duff or low pressure but when tested was doing 20psi. Bit of testing & pipe followng later

Found the problem behind a panel

Great workmanship when they installed it, at least an easy fix.

Result a shower that you can use now 😁

Also replaced some naff plastic towel hooks with stainless steel ones and installed some led strip lights for more ambient lighting.

Hope ya feeling ok

It's not bad when you are classified as the great 'unwashed' but feel fine so can get on with stuff! :giggle:

The last time I had chicken pox (6 times to date!) I only had one big spot but my Dr wouldn't let me go to work in case I gave it to anyone who would suffer from it more than I was as it wasn't actually affecting me at all, consequently I got a week off on sick so I decorated the lounge!

Hope you are feeling better, be careful, my cousin's son's wife has had COVID 4 times , suspect it comes from daughters live in boyfriend, who works in Restaurant, by hope you didn't go out with COVID to buy parts !! 🤔

Thanks, feel fine with no symptoms, but keep testing pos :( 8th day today

Luckily motorhome is stored inside at my business so don't have to go anywhere or order anything, have all the bits I need so can crack on with unfinished jobs without seeing anyone. GF just drops food parcels off every couple of days :)

Had a busy week in mine, had a new EC600 unit fitted under warranty, Fitted 170ah lithium battery 1500w Inverter, with a remote panel and battery monitor two new sockets from the inverter one for microwave and one for the OH GHD's.
added two new USB plugs one 240v the other 12 v, bought and cut new carpet and had it whipped, five jobs left to do Fit B2B, a floe system for drain down, fit mesh behind the front grills to stop stones hitting radiator, sanitize water tanks and finish spraying the chassis and underbody with Lanogaurd.

Had another 100amp Lithium battery added, gives me 400amos in total had the victron set up connected over the internet so can be monitored remotely by me and also accessed by RS to amend and check settings remotely if there are any issues System also adds additional tracking on top of my Scorpion tracker

Pretty neat

Is the lanogaurd easy to apply?

Just ordered a complete new set of tyres, with a resulting eye-watering bill (though a 15% discount made it a bit less 'gulp-worthy').
Today I'm taking the van to discuss a list of likely upgrades with a local company. The spreadsheet of costs is already looking a bit frightening... but still FAR cheaper than buying a new van.

Not fixed anything myself but took the Van in for a Fiat safety recall, possible missing clip on brake pipe.
All sorted now.

You name it either done it already in the process of doing it or on the to do list.

having said that the todo list is only one a4 page long now.

Nothing more than a nice cleaning, especially the wheels and a lovely fresh clean inside, ready for the off on Monday 👍🏻

Took the dash down to Cartronix for new LEDs fitting. Hopefully the warning light issues are now sorted.

Yes great service, I posted mine, and such a relief when those unexplained tiny glimmers of light are extinguished

Fixed our leaking washroom basin leak. Have to say poor design from Burstner, our basin rotated in and out when you want to shower, yesterday when I emptied the basin water ran everywhere. Checking under the basin the hose had split it had been rubbing since day one on a sharp edge, looks worse in the picture as it split further taking it out. I managed to save the attachments at each end and was able to use one of the expanding waste hoses you can buy with soft ends. The original pipe attachments fitted perfectly. So far 🤞we are water tight, I will check again once we get home.
