What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

2 years ago fitted a flashing led to front of moho as the alarm led is mounted on the dash and cannot be seen when blinds down etc. then last month wired in one on the rear. Got to thinking might look more authentic if they flashed intermittently as the alarm (they are independent of it. Flea bay to the rescue just over a fiver and a couple of weeks wait while a little bit of electronic wizardry winged it’s way from China, took a little setting up to get timing right but pleased with result. Photos from my test bench. Battery drain is miniscule after 5 days in operation.

I've been doing electrical upgrades these last couple of months, B2B & other bits of stuff. Last week as the lockdown was starting to lift I reckoned it was time to prep the old girl for a trip, only to find the water pump wouldn't work. So I pulled it out & found it had seized up. I managed to free it & get it running but it wouldn't start without giving it a spin. So a new one was ordered & came within a few days. It's now installed & working. I can't complain, the old pump had done 25yrs! 7 yrs with me. Fiamma must be happy with the design as the new pump is exactly the same as the old one.

Just the right length and tension bungee strap to hold the hab door open securely - as the plastic grip that's supposed to do the job is useless.
I replaced all the plastic grips on the van.

I am in the middle of full inner and outer sill replacement, both sides.
All wheels powder coated...
Fitted new rear discs and pads, rv refillable gas bottle and new rear shocks.
All this done over the last 5/7 weeks, just pottering
As I won’t be going anywhere for a few months it may get repainted as it’s very sun bleached...

I have the Mercedes Hymer B680, I need to do the same to mine, but thanks to the lockdown that's been postponed for a time

Our local 'Specialist' motorhome garage attempted to fail our 25000 miles only B640 Sprinter on 'loose' lower ball joints. I informed them that it was a Mercedes truck, and they don't do failed ball joints! I found out that there is a advisory notice to MOT stations informing them that the play is part of the design, and a failure notice is inappropriate. It passed!
You may be suffering from the same syndrome...

Took all the vents off the dashboard and cleaned out all the sand , sticky goo, dead flies, spiders webs etc out of them that everyone breathes in 😁
Nice and clean now ....never spray dashboard cleaner / shine in your air vents ....it harbours all sorts of nasties

You really dont want a photo of before I cleaned them but heres an after

Adapted mobile 12v fan to Hymercar Yosemite roof window to allow in/out air circulation in this warm weather: works great, as it did in our previous van (Hobby 750).

Moved the bathroom sink forward so it can actually be used to shave, added two double USB ports, moved the Truma gas water boiler switch to somewhere easily accessible, cleaned the roof and gave it the old wet and forget. Roll on free movement!

Cleaned the wiper blades with coke , following some guy promoting cleaning them with wd40 . Now call me old fashioned , but a windscreen is the last place ya want oil ,

Just a quick update on this one . I've just spent the weekend servicing my small van (Suzuki Carry) . I cleaned all the wipers , just as i did with the motorhome . Now i'll point out here they are all Bosch , about 3 years old , and all juddered and scraped .
I cleaned the windscreen blades with coke , and the rear blade with wd40 . Actually i soaked the whole fitting to lubricate all the joints at the same time , as the blade didn't contour to the screen very well . Dirt lift didn't appear to be any different , and none now make a noise , even using flick wipe on a dry screen . Sure to make the annoying scraping sound . Only time will tell how long this will last , or whether the rear screen will be affected by the wd40 . I can add the rear has under test NOT been affected to date and the contour is much improved . Rain is forecasted this week , so a more positive test may be forth coming in the very near future .

Done from phone, iPad wouldn’t let me??

Have to say, moving the sink forward just that smallish amount makes all the difference (placed directly below a cupboard??). I believe the latest model has a slide out sink so there must have been feedback.

The gas boiler room switch was a pain where it was sited. You had to get on your hands and knees to see it. Now it can be operated from the bench seat or bed (when better to switch it on 😎).

The extra two double USB sockets make things a lot easier too when using iPads or phones while in bed...... There's a theme developing here!

And lastly - six months since last wet & forget was applied and it took very little effort to clean the roof before another application.

When is France open???

We have a 630 too and agree the sink is a bit of a pain. I've just shown Alan and he said he can't be ar$ed to move ours ::bigsmile:

Lol, quite easy really there was enough slack in the waste pipe and hot and cold feeds. The truma gas switch had a long stretch of cable coiled up and tie wrapped under the bench seat so no technical electrics, just unplugs.

Finished the circulation fan job for the fridge yesterday - just waiting for summer to test it.
Hi Moonchild, I like what you have done with the vent fans there. I would like to do the same but am not very familiar with motorhome electrics. Where did you take the power for fans from. Was it from a fridge connection? Thanks in advance.

Diesel engine injectors - had to bite the bullet, grit my teeth and pay - MoHo with no MOT is too much like a useless pice of junk parked outside - Engine is 'purring' now though.
Presently re-charging the leisure battery in order to be able to sterilise the water system.
