What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

Well it started with Steph washing the motorhome
When she got to the windscreen she lost one of the windscreen wiper corks holding the wiper off the screen so thinking it had gone down the gutter drain through the engine compartment ..............
A/ removed the drain
B/ removed a completely different cork from the drain
c/ refitted the drain

SO still can't find the flipping cork from the windscreen wiper doin' my head in but the drain now works properly

I’ve juast fitted some Vibe speakers under lockers because one of the original pod speakers had started rattling.
Had to cut holes but I think they look ok and the sound is a lot better.
I modified a food tub to cover the speakers in the cupboard

Original pods, couldn’t find replacement speakers

If the food tub is fairly air tight on the back of the speaker, the cone will not be able to flex and vibrate so a few small holes in the back of the tub will eliminate any “farting” ...(y)

Upgrading speakers is one of the first things I do in a newly bought vehicle...

Cheers, it’s not air tight because I had to cut a hole for the wires to come out.

Haven't fixed it yet but its on order a new exust it has ben on its way out for a fairly long time but has finally fallen apart.
as I have had to modify the original one I will have to do the new one as well as a standard one dose not fit since the new engine was fitted

Finally found & eliminated an intermittent vibration that I have been looking for for 2 years:dance2:
Go on then, tell us what it was!

Replaced the Solar panel controller (STCC10) had the dealer post me one as it is easier than driving there and waiting while they fit it.
Probably go for one of the Votronic MPPT versions as the other bits drop out of warranty.

sdg.

Replaced the Shurflo fresh water pump as it was failing - luckily I carry a spare and have made a note to get a refurb kit when we get home. Switched it on and............... no water! After fiddling about a bit realised we'd run out of water, which could have been a problem as we're parked up at Tafraoute in Morocco. But whadayaknow? the water tanker happened to turn up just as we needed him! All okay now.

Interesting point; whilst changing the pump I switched off the supply taps to avoid drainback. It was only then I realised they were 3-way taps and the central position was a drain! In the almost 10 years we've had the van I'd never realised there were drain taps at the lowest point of the water system!

You live and learn!

Haven't fixed anything this week, too cold out there and snowing. Not going to repair anything till at least the end of February. Then I have a Eberspacher type diesel heater to fit. ( Chinese cheapo one)View attachment 278703
I will also just sit back and think to myself " I'm glad I'm not in the van"
Could you last me have some details please. A friend of mine is looking for a heater for his conversion.
Thanks

Having had the experince of having the huge over engineered table fitted in our previous van we decided not to have one fitted in our current van (Frankia i 740Plus). Husband today has fitted this and we're well chuffed with it. The floor fitment was from Marine Teak and the table top, which matches the cupboards, was from Doors Sincerely. Have put corner protectors on so the dog can't hurt himself when he jumps onto the seats. The whole lot cost around £150.

Left hand (short) drive shaft . Removed regreased both inner & outer cv joints & found a lack of clips on the shafts but it was the low amount of rease allowing the shaft to float in/out causing the intermittent vibration. Been ok now for 1000kms

Raided local caravan scrap yard. Came away with 8 led lights, a new seal for the shower hose, a fly screen for the hab door, a bin casing to fit to the hab door and a new surround for the kitchen roof vent. £40. The fly screen alone is £100. Just need the time to fit it all. See you on the road.

I always overnight on the Cuckoo Oak carpark, just down the road - I of course eat and have a drink there too. Just ask the manager. There is a campsite if you must - Jackie can book you in.

Are we yet aware where Dave will be in a month's time?

Bought and fitted a cruise control kit from NCS.
It comes ready programmed for your base vehicle in our case a 2013 Peugeot Boxer for £231 including next day delivery.

It was easy to fit and took under 2 hour and as well as the normal cruise control you have a switch that you can program for 2 speeds you choose i.e. 30 mph and roadworks speed plus a speed limiter switch that you can set as well.

If you don't fancy fitting it yourself then they will do the install.

I bought some air bags for rear of van ,

IMG_20190312_131028.jpg

Nice dry morning so though I'll go and fit them. The bit I was worried about went fine , removing old bumpstops. Until I got to right hand side.

When removing right hand bump stops was think I don't have much room here .... Stupid me forgot when buying that the rear seat belts frame is in this area .... Spot the difference.
