What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

Ever since we have had the van ( almost 2 years) the oil warning light has only come on a couple of times when I turn the ignition on, usually, the light stays out.
So, yesterday I spent a couple of hours checking all the wiring and joints, took the dash out and cleaned all the contacts, still no light.
The bulb is good and tests perfectly with a multimeter, but as a last resort, I swapped the bulb with another one, and it came on.
o_O
So, everything back together, tried it again, light on with ignition, start engine, light out. Turn off engine, ignition on again, light on. Sorted.
Today, started the van, no oil light on again.
Bugger
Left ignition on, opened bonnet, light came on.
Ignition off then on again, light stayed off.
Checked all joints and wiring but the light stayed off.
I’ll have to sleep on this one.....

Replaced alko corner steadies that were knackered with second hand ones purchased from Fĺeurette from the classified ads on MHF. Needed a little bit of modification but fitted and work a treat.

Actually need help for my next fix

I need a new Hab door seal for the hartal door

This is the pattern and I can find it available per running metre

BUT
How do you fit it???

put it in a bucket of hot water and that will soften it enough to squeeze it into the slot

The oil pressure switch provides an earth when no oil pressure is present as in ignition on but engine not running, when you start the engine the switch contacts open and the light goes off.
If you earth the wire to the switch this should put the light on and prove the wiring and warning light has no problems.
It sounds like you have a faulty oil pressure switch.

Just arrived home. Helpful delivery note through the door. Apparently there's a parcel in my shed.

Continental VanContact 4Season. Got to find someone to fit them now.

When we bought "IT" we knew the hot water boiler was U/S
We weren't worried, doesn't take long to boil a kettle.

Today, I was mooching around the section, had a thought, "hot water!" So oft I goes to have a bit of a squizz . Fiddled a bit here prodded a bit there, contemplated me naval, found a little red button, "I wonder what this does?" says I, gave it a bit of a prod. Heard a click!

Checked the water about an half hour later & HEY HEY!! Whooooze a clever boy then?
That's the letric bit sorted, still phycing meself into the gas bit.

Have found a place that reconditions the Carver Cascade 2 gas assembly bits, so that's now in my sights.

Early on though about a month ago cleaned up the inside of the central heating thingee with a paintbrush and the Vac, got that working too.(Well is was working before, but with me dusting the works it made it easier to see the bloody flame!)

Thinking back, it makes me wonder what sort of slack arse the company that did the Hab check, (for the previous owners) employs, that just said "Hot water not working" when the Bright Red reset button was in full view that even an idiot like me can find!

Also just ordered 2 Fiamma table leg system Caps to plug the holes when not on use

Two vents that now sit in front of Truma fans... hopefully to stop the “fan blocked” error that I get in the winter when I turn water on... after heating has been on all day/night...

My theory being the the small space the boiler occupies... lacks venting if heating is constantly on... and gets “too hot”....

This winter will tell if my logic stacks up..

Ps... fans are fine .. no dust or shite in them... Hence...

Fitted a clock. The hole did not work out quite as neat as I had intended so I made an acrylic mounting plate - 5 mins to design and cut at work. If only I could have found four matching screws...

Overall

the exposed fuse box makes it all look a bit agricultural

Done a invisible repair to the fly screen after a beast tried to put its head thru.
If you look hard you can just see the tape :-)

Honest @andy63 it was all my own work
Thanks @TerryL not as easy as you might think both pieces needed to be cut to the same length :-)

I'm looking forward to my next dump ........................................................... grey water that is.

Dumping our grey water has been a source of embarrassment on more then one occasion with other motorhomes queuing up, drumming their fingers waiting for the paltry flow from our grey waste to finish.
Spurred on by seeing what @Tinker2 had done to speed up the exiting of his grey water, I have today removed forever the shame and embarrassment of slow flow.

I purchased from CAK Tanks a 28mm grey waste drain tap and a 28mm to 25mm pipe reducer.

The tap - https://leisurelines.net/28mm-grey-waste-water-drain-tap-valve-4303-p.asp and the reducer - https://leisurelines.net/28mm-grey-waste-push-fit-male-pipe---25mm-hose-adaptor-j-433-p.asp

A simple job on our Elddis Autoquest 175. Remover the offending original grey waste drain tap, remover the rubber grommet on the tap mounting bracket.
The new tap is a nice tight fit into the mounting bracket and I used a jubilee clip to secure it in place, reconnect the hose from the grey tank and job done.
I can now soak ever bodies shoes at 20 paces.

The old tap = 18mm inlet and 14mm outlet

New tap = 23mm inlet and 28mm outlet

I nibbles a bit out of the mounting bracket to help lock the tap outlet to the bracket.

I am not a DIYer unfortunately, far from it,but today after a 6ml walk this morning I have spent half an hour putting the rubber seal which goes around the large garage door back into its runner(y).
