What have you ever forgotten? Mousy off again..

I have a couple. One time away I left the front door not only unlocked, but open for a fortnight. On another occasion took No2 son on a long weekend trip to Holland and discovered he had got No3 sons passport. Luckily passport a few years old and they did look vaguely similar so got there and back no problem. Wouldn't work now as No3 has a beard you could hide a badger in.

We did the Vitoria Gasteiz Aire, rather than the Zaragoza Aire, simply because we had been before and had wined and dined successfully previously. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

We overslept again! So no time for any games.

Using all of your very helpful route tips and after filling with fuel €1.86 (intermarche) we hit the motorway.

Thought of Northernraider when I saw this at the next pump. It made one hell of a noise!

Hoping Martin was too busy driving to spot this Royal Enfield cos I don’t want him getting any ideas for another bike! His short wife obviously isn’t into much sightseeing.

Arrived in Spain Zaragoza to blue skies so parked up in the aire and took the tram into town, €1.50 each and masks compulsory.

Lovely to see Spanish jamon again. Be even nicer to eat some.

A well deserved beer for the driver.
Great to people watch as town was packed with young and old.

We are going to ride the bikes into town tomorrow and have a look around this. Will report back.

Ooh a wee Renault 5 turbo ...never owned one but I've been in one ....Savage
Martin said if it was a ‘real” one it would be worth a lot. I had a turquoise green Renault 5 30 years ago.

Yeah if it was a gordini they are worth silly money these days . I think my mate paid less than a grand for his green one in the early 90's

That’s a big jump from France to Zaragoza, which way did you go in the end, through the somport tunnel..?

From Bordeaux to Irun, pampanola to Zaragoza on toll roads, no tunnel. 👍

Looks great. Was Millie allowed on the tram into Zaragoza?

Too much on it to be a clone.

A Turbo 1 you can probably add on 50% or even double.
I remember when they were as cheap as chips:LOL:

Sadly not. She had to stay in the van eating dried deer sausage and napping on the sofa.

Loads of dogs in Zaragoza including this special hook for leads and attached dogs outside of the shop!

People seem more chilled about dogs here than home.

Love that colour yellow! Hoe you enjoyed Zaragoza.

Where are you headed tomorrow?

Why are dogs not allowed in so many places considering everyone here has a dog .....or at least sometimes late at night when all you hear is barking thats what it seems like . :wasntme:

Spent some time in Zaragoza today, pic of the free Aire.

Took the elevator (very fast) up the tower. Not for the faint hearted. This is looking down and you have to walk on the glass before going up the spiral staircase to the top.

Crisp but sunny day. Sadly too late for the Christmas market, Martin was gutted.

We went into 2 huge churches (one might have been a cathedral) we were both struggling with the Spanish, anyway just for you lot I risked being beheaded for taking pictures inside…let’s just say Martin and I would make terrible spies!
He kept standing in front of me to “shield me from security “ thus blocking any potential snap!

You can’t fail to be impressed with the workmanship but very over the top and Catholic. Also incredibly dusty! They should perhaps give their priests feather dusters to keep them better occupied….

We stopped for some tapas and a drink,

These hot pork belly or noses (translation error) were seriously good but massive portions.

Stumbled over these Roman ruins

Went into another church as it was part of our €9 ticket. This is a permanent collection of stained glass lanterns which once a year (October) they parade in the streets.. some over 17 foot tall.

They probably need huge plates of pork noses to give them strength carrying these things because they are massive.

Speaking of massive..

How tiny does 6’2” Martin look next to this door?!

Off to Benicassim tomorrow for some cycling and sunshine.
Millie can have a run around on the beach too.

Don’t go to Greece, the dogs there have a rule that at least 3 must be barking throughout the night and they work in shifts to make it so.

Loving the photos. Those lanterns are amazing!

You missed seeing Our Lady of the Pillar in the Basilica by 2 days! It’s shown on the 12th of every month - how unlucky were you?!?

Apparently she came to James the Apostle as an apparition, while she was in Jerusalem and he was in Spain.

Closest you’ll get to a relic!

Have a safe trip to Benicassim and a lovely sunny break there.

Zaragoza looks very pretty , i couldnt do that tower though:shake: :X3:.
Shame about dogs not being allowed on the tram as this means we can't go :crying:
Safe journey, forecast is 17°

Hi we have recently returned from the Zaragoza area of Spain. There are lots of new Aires opened up in that area.
We had planned to go further to the south but we like walking and exploring the countryside. So didn’t get to the coast as there was too much to see. There is very little information about the villages on the internet, but we found once you look at the local information boards, there are walking trails all over. Lots of interesting history as well. Trasmoz was interesting, the whole village was excommunicated for witchcraft and Layana has the remains of a Roman city a couple of miles along the road, (the Spanish had a bus trip to it while we were there).
Safe travels.
