what did you fix today

Mine is the same. Managed to get it to print and copy but have to go to control panel And scan from there !!! Also takes ages to boot up
If it's an HP one, then I found some HP software ti sirt it out: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03286146 Took ages to find it but it sorted out the problems rather well in the end

Have that fixed the problem I just threw my one out yesterday sat for a year unused
A good strategy! Trouble is that we have 5 of the buggers, and no budget to replace them

thats funny becase the first time i leant in the cupbnoard i lent on the bar and it popped out

Ours is continually falling out, been like that since we got her 6 years ago, however, a fix is on the "to do" list (y)

Not fixed but bust! :(

The baby gate which I modified to fit in our PVC to stop the dogs getting out when we open the sliding door has been working absolutely perfectly except for one thing - if it's on the 'outer' edge of the bottom bar when the sliding door is closed the large rubber 'stopper' thing on the door itself can jam in the rails - I did try to find a way to remove this ruddy bit of rubber before we came away but shortness of time and it not being something that can easily be done, it didn't get done - so its just a matter of remembering to close it properly (I keep reminding hubby ....). Anyway today he was cooking tea (don't ask it did NOT go well ... :() and he shut the sliding door ... and, you've guessed, ... he jammed it ... but managed to release it by partly dislodging the gate ... as he was in a bad 'mood' I said for him to leave it alone and I'd put it back later (easy to do but didn't want to get in his way at the time), so he left it. Once tea was over and he got up to take the dogs out whilst I washed up (cleared up the carnage more like!:cautious:) he decided to try to put the gate back but before I could stop him he promptly broke one of the plastic catches holding it in place! (n) So now, I've got to somehow make a temporary 'fix' until I get home so I can remake a catch for it!:mad::mad:

He's gone to bed early ... sulking!

We have a 12v Waeco fridge where the door on occasion does not seal properly. There is a dedicated insert hole in the top of the door similar to the locking device on other fridges we have had but no hole in the top edge of the fridge so I've drilled it and can now insert a red golf tee for a secure closed seal.

I fixed my washing machine door :) ....... well, not fixed but found out that if I bash the bottom of the door the machine starts. I thought it was broken and I was going to have to buy a new one.

When we had a caravan, the best porch awning we ever had was a Kampa Rally 260. This was sold as it would not fit the much taller MH we changed to. Now we have an Autocruise Rythym with a rail height of 237cm so I bought another Kampa Rally 260 but found that my Fiamma F65s rail aperture was much smaller. I rang Agentfiamma to be told that I would have to buy the driveaway kit at over 20 quid but this would either move the awning away from the van wall and make it too short dropping a further approx' 8cms so not acceptable. I decided to carefully open up the awning channel and have just finished driving through several 'bullets' of increasing diameters until the awning slides comparatively easily.

Interesting - what 'bullets' did you use to do the job? We have to use a Fo8 kit with ours and it's a bit of a nuisance at times especially when it's windy as the plastic slides all over, the awning goes one way, and the beading goes another!!!

Ref my earlier post about hubby busting the clip for my 'dog gate' ... he's had a 'go' at fixing it ... with every motorhome owner's friend ... good old gaffer tape! :D A cable tie would have done the job quicker and neater but at least he's had a go!

1245..... new 100w solar panel arrived. Had a lazy lunch and all fitted, sikaflexed and working by 4pm. A bit slow but never mind. Now got 260w on the roof so I can play with the flashing lights to my hearts content and @icantremember 's annoyance (yessssss..........);)

They quite often do that if you close the door gently. It just fails to make the door switch, allowing the power to start,:Slamming door , or as you found banging it, will usually solve the problem.

Psssssst ... I think she kicked it .... :D

I 'renovated' the wing mirrors on our X244 Hobby by attacking them with, first some 400 W&D then finishing it off with 800 Grade.
That got rid of some unsightly little nicks and other 'Battle scars'
I then wiped the surface down with a paper towel dampened by cellulose thinners and left it to air dry.
Then on went a coating of Bumper Black which was then buffed off with an old piece of teatowel (It was old, honest)
The mirror stays have some 'hard to clean' concertina rubber covers and they got the same treatment, using an old toothbrush. (If doing it again I would mask off the surrounding door paintwork as this got splattered somewhat and had to be cleaned off afterwords.)

I know the 'Bumper black' is merely a dye and I will have to do it again, but I couldn't get on the ferry on Friday (Yippee!!!) with the'van looking clean and the wing mirrors spoiling it.
I'm tempted to give the mirror covers the 'heat gun' treatment next year to see if that will restore the colour better. I did it with my last but one car and it worked quite well.

Him Indoors was driving the car through narrow lanes, had a bit of a coming together with another car - our wing mirror flew out - we went back, I found it unscathed by the side of the road, it just snapped back in! All electrics working perfectly! - I also found at least 3 other smashed wing mirrors in the same place...

Score #1 for the Audi A2 (y)

I wish you'd told me earlier .... would have saved us a trip to Blackpool for the illuminations yesterday!

Found a way of putting a strap out of bathroom roof , so I can put the end of the solar shower on to it and have a stand up shower at the back of the van.

Started with the commercially sold awning opener that collapsed after a few inches as it is solely designed to repair short runs of damaged caravan C rails. So 'bullets' cut from 2 steel tent pegs the thinnest(yellow top) being the start bullet followed by the thicker peg(black top) and finally cut from some steel rod that had been saved from a broken step. each bullet about 3cms long had to be ground to round the heads to stop gouging and the inner rail sprayed with WD40. Each bullet was protected by a smaller bullet behind it that took the hammering using a flat piece of steel plate. This bullet could be removed if its backend started to deform(my 3lb lump hammer is not very kind)

Now then @Minxy Girl , would I do it this way again? N0 I would not. Although successful, hell of a lot of noise and heavy work but if I had the same problem again I would have the awning beading removed and the correct beading fitted by an awning repair service.

Then again HOW MUCH:eek:

I had the same problem - solved by getting a length of the correct (5mm) awning stuff sewn on above the existing.

Fitted be Chan to chan saw of down our wood to cut sum fallen timbers

That's the alternative - I'll have to buy a strip of it and sew it on ... seems less 'drastic' than vin's 'fix' ... even though I do like hitting things with lump hammers!!! :X3:

If you leave the original beading on just make sure that you have sufficient clearance between the van and the bottom of the awning casing otherwise it may not lock in place when wound back in. I had to adjust mine to give additional clearance.
Oh, just remembered, I slid my entire canopy as far forward as it would go so that the lefthand bumper pads would clear the sliding door.
