Off to the Netherlands for 12 days of Tulips and windmills. Looking forward to exploring the coastline and inland waterways and some great bike rides. Weather forecast for next week is sunny too!

Having couple of days up at Beadnell, beautiful sunny day but the wind is horrendous.our first job on arrival was to help some poor soul who was trying to get his tent pitched and it was in danger of becoming a giant kite. Had a walk along to the pub, pint of Black sheep yum yum, booked a table for lunch tomorrow

Shucks.....not good for the diet then
I am saying nowt but if you don't like it there is something wrong with you
Try the blueberry or the ginger
I do a pilgrimage twice a year
You could come back over from hawes to ingleton it takes you past ribblehead viaduct good walking country and you can park in pub car park overnight if you eat in bar grubs plain but decant and a good pint

@Peter & Elaine
No, I love cheese (and ginger), that's the problem ;)
Looking forward to exploring the area, thanks for the info (y)

Took the youngest granddaughter (7) down the Blue John mines at Castleton,Derbyshire.
She thinks it's great to be able to say she's been down Peak Cavern.
Lost count of the number of times she's referred to it by its more common name of "The Devil's Arse".
She just says "proper name, Grandad".
Absolutely knackered, breathing like a thrashing engine, but a great day.

Off to Dornafield in Newton Abbott never been before but looks a nice site, and the pub up the road looks good. (y)

I have a significant birthday this weekend, so when Di told me to choose where I wanted us to spend it I had absolutely no hesitation in suggesting Baltic Wharf CC site in Bristol. This has become a real favourite of ours over the years and we're pleased to be able to visit one more time before it closes.
Sadly only three nights 'cause Di refuses to take retirement. So travel up tomorrow, may have to visit The Cottage (lots of you will know what I mean). Lazy day Saturday, maybe lunch at GBK (Gourmet Burger Kitchen). Looking forward to Sunday, boat trip through the Avon Gorge to the Bristol Channel; this trip is tide-dependant and doesn't run too often. Drift back to Cornwall Monday.
Looking forward to the trip although the weather forecast isn't too exciting.
Stef.

Staying home this weekend to catch up on some housework etc. Has to be done

Booked in Moffat C&CC site Fri/Sat/Sunday. Roast dinner in the town Sunday and move on again north on Monday.

It's Mikes birthday on Saturday, so the plan is hopefully going to pick up daughters new to her van on Saturday, then Mike wants to go and take a new bike out for a test drive. After that who knows....
