What are you up to this weekend?

Lol, she hasn’t even started on food packing yet!

Isnt it great when what you plan/hope to happen comes good?
Pretty rare in my case but this weekend I've fitted the spare (large) full gas bottle that was in my shed for years, fitted the seat covers bought off a fellow funster (fit perfectly look superb), lowered the height of my step by chopping an inch off all 6 legs, fitted a new Thule bike rack (easy job helped by good design and quality) and erected the new drive away awning in my garden, again bought from another funster on here.
I cant remember having such a productive motorhome weekend.

Also changed the mains plug into the van to a bottom entry type thereby relieving the stress on the socket.

Telford Classic Off Road Show. Cash has been 'stashed' especially for the occasion

This weekend we are heading off to Brugge for a few days via the Channel Tunnel (courtesy of Tesco vouchers). The weather could be interesting!

I was due to run a go kart meeting at Bayford Meadows but it has been cancelled due to uncle Denis ☹️ Would have covered my MOT next month

We are going over to the East Coast with the MH on Tuesday for 4 nights. We are having 2 in Bridlington at the Caravan club site and then 2 at Filey Brigg. A bit of walking, shopping, eating and time to ourselves. I might take a big coat ;)

Did a Britstop at the Loders Arms near Britport, lovely steak. Then down West Bay to watch the storm waves. Approaching the Bere Regis roundabout the exhaust made a rather unusual noise, limped into the petrol station, front pipe hanging down. Considered calling the RAC then thought how long would that take on a wet and windy saturday evening. Popped into the country/farmers supply shop behind the petrol station. Bought a bunch of jubilee clips, 4mm threaded rod and a hacksaw. Managed to make up a splint repair to keep the pipe in line. Gave up trying to keep dry while rolling around on the garage forecourt. Repair seemed to work so headed home so Southampton, twenty miles later traffic at a standstill, fallen tree, everybody doing 10point turns and hunting for alternate routes. Finally got home, our 19 year old son had drunk all the milk.

it's windy out and the wee-man is not back till Monday the weather is still crap so hunkered down at home riding out storm Dennis

We are braving the wind and rain on a CL site near East Wittering! It is only our second weekend in Maurice! It is very interesting so far! ?️?️?

We have just returned (Yesterday) from 4 nights on the East Coast (2 at the C&MHC Bidlington and 2 at Filey Brigg) It was wet and windy but it made a change from work and home. We had a few good walks and some nice fish and chips. I travelled home yesterday Morning/lunchtime and to be honest was not ready for the wind. It hit us a couple of times on the A64 and I thought we were going over. On one occasion it lifted the MH enough so the engine revs went up as it momentarially lost traction on one side as the the front wheel came off the road ! I avoided the motorway and came home through Ripon Harrogate and Skipton which on the open stretches was still tricky. I would not travel again when the wind is so strong as i think we were lucky this time but maybe not so lucky next. I have to admit it was poor judgment on my part and could have caused and lot of damage and injury to ourselves and the MH. Another lesson learned

This weekend I will be cleaning the MH and washing five weeks-worth of dirty laundry. We will be home on Friday after a fantastic tiki tour around the North Island of NZ. I’m not looking forward to seeing the state of my garden and I probably won’t get around to weeding it before I depart in two weeks time for India - Coronavirus permitting!

Off 2 tenerife for a short break with rock & roll friends BARB * TRUDI & MY MATE GRAHAM/ flight cancelled yesterday hopefully get off 2 day

well, weekend just gone, sunday, decided to fix the car, window regulator had packed up, so stripped out door, cable snapped in reg assy, well and truly lunched its self, eventually got the window clips down, had to cut more cables!, got old reg out, new one in, then spent a good 30 mins swearing and cursing trying to get the window into the clips, after much banging, forcing and effing they dropped into place, so all good as i can now open the window and hurl abuse at people again (y)

Going to Wales today for second trip in new to us van ( not counting times we have taken it back to Travelworld for snagging fixes) In campsite tonight and Friday - with a hot tub( seemed like a good idea when we booked it - may have to take our snorkels) Not sure if this smacks of madness

Journey to Wales fine- extent of flooding in the fields quite astonishing. Bargoed Farm campsite lovely - staff friendly ,hot tub is great and inside a wee housie.......which is good as we will be in it most of day to keep drier than being in the torrential rain
AND?the heating in the van isn’t working on gas. Error 212 read threads regarding this and is not anything I can fix. Getting fed up of going back to Travelworld.. old van sadly missed it had no air con and engine of a sewing machine but nothing ever went wrong in it. Walking to the sea later, that will cheer us up . Have lovely Friday peoples x
