Wow, you have just brought back some fantastic memories with the mention of the Guadiana River.

Several years ago while we were staying at Albufeira, we did a day's river cruise excursion, upriver from Vila Real de Santo Antonio to a small town Foz de Odeleite where we had an arranged lunch at which the local 'plonk' flowed freely, and back again. It was a 6:30 start to pick up the coach to get to the boat, and we got back to Alberfeira about 21:00, so a longish day, but we had a fabulous time, and SWMBO often mentions it as one of the best days we have have had. The weather was great, the boat trip was really pleasant through lovely countryside, and the company (mainly Germans) were really great fun to be with (and boy, can they drink!), even though neither of us could speak their language. The mention of "a nice glass of red" brings back the memory of sore heads when we surfaced the next morning!

Going ... well trying to anyway, to make it to Valence while they're all busy invading Paris to visit son and grand daughter.... DIL is not home , so as we say "when the cat is out the mice dance":p:D
900 kms within 2 days.... luckily I'll have some rest when at work again!

Giving half brother a lift to lochgilphead to pick up a motor then we are carrying on to our cabin as we have arranged a sweep for Monday. Early start tomorrow but staying with daughter overnight in old home town to cut journey down by 90 minutes so I can have a longer lie. A house of 5 dogs tonight, 3 Chihuahuas, border and lab.

Wishing we were getting away but alas Himself has to clean the cassette before the van goes in for a SOG to be fitted next week. Hope you all enjoy your weekend and think of H..... with a pair of pink rubber gloves and a toothbrush. Probably a bit like doing National Service, think that needs bringing back, but don't get me started.

Cleaning, tidying, sweeping, mat beating, washing surfaces, folding socks and tee shirts, polishing windows and cupboard doors, washing and drying dishes and cutlery, cleaning and polishing shoes and boots...

Just like I do every weekend...

Or I might just watch the football, guzzling home made pancakes loaded with chocolate and hazelnut spread...

JJ

Not away this weekend, just wish we were! Hoping to get away next weekend but not sure where yet, also depends of the weather forecast!

My son is on his way to Lincoln, so we'll spend the weekend in an England shirt and hopefully watch our team beat Australia. Sunday will see us still celebrating or sobbing. '\

Moping around hoping to soon get a date to return to the UK and the Moho. Much to do before hitting the road to various family members. The urge is strong. :-)

As it’s my birthday weekend, we are at the Rose Revived pub Nr Whitney to meet up with my cousins and then my girls are joining me where ever we end up on Sunday.

Well today I shall be bottling up our home made sloe gin and getting everything cleaned ready to start next year's damson gin using the damsons kindly donated from the wonderful Judy @old-mo

The weekend just gone I unloaded one and a quarter tons of garden slabs off the back of a lorry and carried them across our garden, then on the Sunday I spread 15 tons of gravel around our house. Can't wait for next weekend when I intend on going off somewhere in the MH to recover.

Sounds like you need to!

If the weather is OK we might go down to Canterbury P&R, otherwise we'll go down into Sheerness to have a look around the Xmas market - but apparently it was rubbish last year, just 3 stalls!

Think I have just heard bloomin mice in our loft again so may try and persuade our 16yr old kitty to sort em out. Or it's chocolate morsels in our humane trap and a bus ride.

Son over from Sweden, Daughter son in law and kids from Bristol, then washing my hair(n)

Oh and taking the p*ss out of all the naughty people on here.... nearly said f*ckwit then;)

Just about to leave for Whitewater C& MC site for 6 nights. Good walking at the side of the Tees. Weather Forecast said no rain here today but we have had continuous showers. Looks like Shiny Motorhome is going to get very mucky!:(
