Has anyone had a warranty issue refused for no good reason?

We have a body work issue which appeared no long after we had the MH but just thought it was a heat spot, we spoke to the dealers at the next 2 had checks and they did not have any idea why it was but after the last had check said we should take it up with the manufactures after our holidays which we did.

We have a McLouis Fusion which has now beed acquired by Auto Sleepers.

Auto Sleepers have now came back and said the suspension update to get it to 4T was not done correctly (done by Glide Rite who I believe did it correctly).

We have photo evidence of the lump before the suspension was carried out and Auto Sleepers have said we should be had it don ethen even though I reported it to our dealers.

I have to now send an email to Auto Sleepers (as the dealers does not know what to do).

How should I proceed, should I lay out me findings before or after seeking professional advice or seek it before emailing?

If that is the case and they forgot to remove them, what else did they forget? Just a thought?
Granted but I honestly don't think the damage has anything to do with the suspension etc. The rear body is supported by galvanised chassis extensions like every other van out there. They are hard to see in the photo but they are there if you zoom in .

If the rear body was sagging there would likely be damage above the window below the roofline too .

My thought....
Some, if not most, solicitors provide a free first consultation.
I've read that the ombudsman can only become involved if all other avenues have been exhausted.
A letter from a solicitor can have great effect.

Historically, I bought a vehicle and after it's warranty had expired, a defect came to light. My solicitors letter focused minds because it mentioned that all parties to the purchase would be held jointly and severally liable. That meant the dealer and the finance company/lender. The matter was resolved within a week.

The letter cost me about £100. I was offered a repair to the vehicle or a replacement vehicle, or a full refund, whichever I preferred.
Fyi.

Also the front one looks at an odd angle which would suggest if they are spacers they aren't fitted properly?
The one that's at an angle is at the rear of the van ....just before the drop plates to the chassis extensions that go under the garage floor.

I don't think they are meant to be fitted. I think they are placed there when the van is being built they will hold the floor off the chassis while it's being assembled. ...or simply stop the floor from moving in thst area.

Really it needs the op to go to the van and take more photos underneath and of the other side etc so people can get a better idea as till then we are all guessing and the photos aren't the clearest.

My point to them is that the issue started before the suspension work took place.
I understand that, as I think we all do but do you have evidence that you brought this problem to the dealership’s attention before the air suspension was fitted, I don’t think anybody believes that this is really the root cause of the issue but they can see a possible get out and are trying to use it,

Certainly not prohibitive if the Dunlop rear air kit is used - can’t comment about VB - and no requirement to install extra leafs, just replace the anti roll bar drop links for about £32 as advised by Dunlop (DSC Netherlands) technical department, and the ARB remains in situ. It’s detailed on the thread you’ve linked to at post #46.

Only my thoughts, but assuming you bought it from a dealer. For them to get you to talk to the converter is wrong. Your contract is with the dealer.

If it is under warranty and the work done has not voided that warranty then the dealer needs to sort it. They cannot shirk their responsibility, but many try to.
Absolutely right.

Email to manufacturer and dealer first telling them both between them to get it sorted. You know of other people with same problem and if not sorted you are going to the press.

From what you have posted regarding their reaction to the aftermarket fit they may consider you have breached your warranty terms.

I hope you can get this resolved satisfactorily,👍
Sadly I was thinking the same - as from previous warranties any conversions or changes to the van unless done by the main dealer would invalidate the warranty.
Which is why I feel any changes should take place once the warranty has ended.

Also I would have insisted they investigate the issue when first spotted.

Looks like it's caused by water ingress from the window seal, so you would have to wait 10 years.

Maybe pay for an independent inspection and then pass on the findings, when our kontiki overcab sunroof let go for no apparent reason, swift did replace it under warranty, it took months and they never admitted any kind of liability but it was done with no cost to me (see my earlier post)

If it were me I would be asking other owners of the same model if they have similar effects, it looks to have a huge overhang which would require significant reinforcement of chassis/body, maybe the manufacturer got it wrong...

This is the reply from McLouis Fusion

We had a response from Mclouis warranty dept, claim is rejected , please see below their reply:

Hello Madalina,

I have also consulted the Approvals office and it was found that on the vehicle chassis are mounted air suspensions Glide rite not provided for in the approval/homologation of the vehicle.

This model of suspension is not tested by us and not even knowing the inflation pressure of the same, we do not know the impact that these can have on the cell of the vehicle.

This condition means that we must decline any responsibility of McLouis for this defect.
So.

The manufacturer declines to get involved.

Fine.

You just need to apply legal pressure to the dealer. It's their problem. Force them to fix it.
