UK trip..sites to see, places to stay ?

Tram Museum at Crich.
Beamish Museum - same as the Bowes - Jenny really fances going there.

We took the van to Beamish and had a very warm welcome from the parking attendant who showed us a nice quiet place to park and said he expected we wanted to have a brew-up before starting our visit. There is enough to see there to spend more than a day. We spent the night at a nearby Britstop that was equally welcoming.

That was part of an East Coast tour we did. Spurn Point had an interesting back-end-of-beyond feeling and good for walking/cycling with a friendly, cheap campsite and a nice pub overlooking the estuary.

We also visited Eden Camp which was also very accommodating for motorhomes.

Yes Beamish was great, and we found a great over night down a forestry road less than a mile from it ( really MUST start making note of such spots :-) )

We have given Eden a wide berth,, two reasons
No dogs ( which I fully understand )
Ticket price... which we both say are silly exorbitant !

If up Yorkshire way Ryedale Folk Museum is a good one, looks small from the front but goes back a long way and really interesting, not so far from Pickering and a nice drive across the moors (you can close your eyes if you don't want to see the scenery John ;))

Around Norfolk way Wroxham is a lovely area, you can stay on the marina for £10 a night, no EHU but there are toilets and showers, photo below is view from our parking spot when there 2 years ago.

From here you are just around the corner from the Bure Valley Railway, a narrow gauge steam railway. https://www.bvrw.co.uk/

The Radar museum was another one local to here that was a good day out, even for us ladies

Lived in Norfolk a little while now ( well .... going on 49 years :-) ) and somewhat in to anything to do with radio and radar and I never knew about the radar museum ! Really appreciate that one !
But Kelling Heath used to be a regular weekend bolt hole ( until they put the prices up ) so often took a ride on the railway :-)

It's beginning to look like you will need at least a 6 month tour of the UK to take this lot in John.
Well it is basically plotted on the map...starting at Wroxham...........1760 miles.
Now I am going to start adding the suggested destinations...... This is gonna take a while !

Wroxham --> Moscow 1759 miles.

I'm sure the shorter trip would be more adventurous.

Craven collection looks imteresting, and it would be good to visit a different bunker.. Done the one in Essex a few times now

Secret Bunker near St Andrews if you get that far up. Lovely wee fishing villages in the East Neuk of Fife.

I think the furthest north we are likely to go will be Edinburgh this time BB...

Yesssss... but that is one way !

Correct. Napoleon was desperate to visit Moscow. Hitler was desperate to visit Moscow. I was thinking maybe once you achieved what Napoleon and Hitler failed to you might just stay there. @Chris will have a word in the ear of his mate Putin they'll lay on a Dacha to keep you warm over the winter. Putin is a big biker, you'll be well in there.

I need to take the grandkids somewhere.
Anyone know of any good dungeons?
Only need one-way tickets...

Well at risk of being called an Fork Lift Truck you can't do much more interesting than Liverpool and Chester in the North West both easily commutable from New Brighton for diddly sh*t especially with yer bus pass:LOL:
I believe motorhome/campervan parking overnight at New Brighton has now been banned. The council was looking at a Coastal parking charge of £20 for overnight parking to try to deter people (and make some money)! We haven't been along to check but I have seen quite a few posts to this effect on various sites.
