Tyres ... Unsure what's best

We like uppy downy roads and tracks. 😄
Looking at all this the Michelin Agilis seem to have given you pretty good mileage and that was our experience. Assuming your spare is an Agilis and is probably still very good, why not go for 4 new Agilis as I think you said there was a good chance you might be able to get hold of some.

Hi guys
Fitted 4 cross climate Michelin camper tyres load rating 118 max 76psi 225/75/16 10year life absolutely very happy been in all weathers with them done 7k quieter than Michelin camper tyres Asda tyres fitted them £800 for 4 👍

time ⏰ degrades tyres unfortunately would you be happy placing 4 or 5 year old tyre in one wheel and brand new on the other. It’s about choice, personally I wouldn’t someone else will say do it.
How many people have the same level of debate on their cars spare tyre?

I've always said you get what you pay for. 😲
We will be needing new tyres next year, and after many years with Michelin and Continental we will probably go cheaper we don't really need winter tyres. 😎 Bob.

Mine don’t mention alpine 🤷‍♂️

........and soon the wallet will too!
Not for a while ... I'll stick it on my Tesco credit card with 0% on purchases until April 2024. :giggle:

They are all Agilis including the spare. We don't actually need 4 at the moment as the rears still have a couple of years left in them. They have a 7 year lifespan (minimum) so doesn't look like age will be an issue and we'll wear them all out before they get to that anyway.

Hubby has 'declared' that he's going to have the spare put on the front (alloy) plus a new matched one and having one of the existing front ones (whichever is best) put on the spare (steel) wheel. This should give us a couple of years minimum before we need to look at it again ... unless sod's law means we have a blooming blow out!

Thanks for all the input guys, very interesting and I'll keep this thread bookmarked for future reference.

Perhaps worth a look Click at least this advice is from an actual tyre manufacturer.

Bitten the bullet now - 4 Falken Euroall Season VAN11215/75 R16 R (116) going onto the van on Saturday. We'll keep our fingers crossed that we won't need the spare for the time being - that's a Vanco Camper!
Correction 225/75/16 (121)

I have five, Michelin m+s Agilis camper tyres 225/75/16. One off the spare wheel not used and 4 with 100 miles in the garage as new when I collected my camper from dealer end of Feb 23 to home and changed to cross climates, will be selling on my return from Portugal end of May, if anyone is interested.
I'd be interested ;)(y)

Good decision and best value for money.

Hi sir
Did you get your tyres fitted today and if so are you pleased with them ?
Sadly not done today, and will now have to wait a few weeks until we return from a trip.

Just bought a set of four GT Radial Maxmilers 205/70 R15C (S rated 107/109) through RAC Tyres for my 3.3 tonne Rapido 707F. My local fitting company refused to fit them unless I took full responsibility as they stated that they were unsuitable and they only recommended tyres with the CP coding for my MH. Fortunately RAC were brilliant and arranged for collection of the tyres and say they will refund in full.

What does the handbook for your rapido state? If the handbook states you must have CP tyres then you would must as you would driving illegally and insurance could be void in accident. If it states you should fit

Oops didn’t finish. If handbook says 109 S tyres then you will be fine

Should tell us who that "local fitting co" was... telling you such garbage I would want to know to avoid them if they only fit CP tyres. If however they were concerned about load ratings that's a different matter as they look a little on the low side to me.. surprised you didn't go with the higher rated and all season version of this tyre.

I need to replace a pair of Bridgestone Duravis 215/70 - R15 C R630 109/107 S tyres on my 2015 3500kg Ducato PVC. They have been on since new - over 33,000 miles - so have worn very well. They are still legal but at 8 years old, and a tour across the Channel coming up shortly, I am going to bite the bullet and replace them.
My first surprise came when I found that the R630 is no longer available hence my delight at finding this immensely useful tyre thread to help me sort out replacements ;-)
I have spent a happy (not!) couple of hours chatting to tyre companies and getting quotes and am coming out in favour of Falken Euroall Season Van11 tyres. There is a 20% discount deal on offer and a pair fitted would cost £204.90.
These tyres are C rated and tick all the boxes EXCEPT they are rated at load index 104/102 (900/850kg) whereas the Duravis are 109/107. Am I right in thinking that the weight quoted is for each tyre so the four together would be 3400kg and therefore less than I need?

I am still prevaricating David! I see your moho is 3500kg same as mine. Are you happy with the 104/102 load index of the Falkens?

Sorry Brian, ours are waiting until we get back from France & the initial delay was that I realised that I’d got the wrong tyre coming. We’ve up-plated to 4250kg and need 116 tyres to achieve this. I’m reconsidering the options.

I got a tad worried about the load rating issue so have played safe and gone with the same make, but the latest version, of the existing tyres - Bridgestone R660 - £285.06 for two fitted. Getting fitted at Mid Devon Tyres tomorrow!
I am grateful for all the hints and tips from folk on here. So nearly made a mistake!

Any opinions on these?

3 PMSF rated and £82 a corner?

Well the car's just had it's MOT which it passed (£29.99 at Halfords for being a 'free' member of it's club! (y) ) but it's been mentioned that the rear tyres will need replacing at some point so as well as the camper we've got the car to get new 'boots' for.

It's recommended that tyre load ratings should be actual load +10% margin.
