THIS week I bought

I've ordered a new upright freezer for home as ours is untrustworthy (took ages to come back on after 2 recent power cuts :crying1:)

This is the Makita fan I bought recently. It's hard to tell from sellers pictures just how big it is so here are a couple with things to guage it.
Battery inserted from my tool kit. I'm delighted for the price and it is truly portable

It's great and don't forget anyone who doesn't have Makita kit and thus batteries it DOES come with a mains adapter

A tag for use on French autoroutes...

No more hanging out of the windows for my passengers!

Is your m/h under 3500Kg as I understood the tags are not available for vehicles over 3.5 tonne?

Tags are registered to the "owner" rather than a "vehicle". So you may use these in your motorhome or car.

There are two service providers: Sanef for domestic vehicles and another for commercial vehicles. Only Sanef will issue the tag to UK residents.

At the tolls a selection of monitoring devices including lasers will decide what class your vehicle is, and charge you accordingly. I suspect if the Sanef tag was put in the window of a 7.5 tonne rigid the barrier would not open.

At automatic and manned tolls I have ALWAYS been charged as Class II. Now I have a tag it just means I don't have to stop.

Courier delivered my new Solar Panels yesterday :) from the German company suggested by Andy, there was a hole in the very flimsy packaging and obvious damage so opened it with the driver and yes damaged :(, See pics.
Apart from the damage there looks to be corrosion on the foil strips. Does it look like a good panel to you?
Anyway returned with driver as damaged but DPD website says returned as not ordered and a message on my answering machine last night to phone a premium German number which I think is DPD. Emails and pictures to supplier but no response yet!! Not a happy bunny.

Although I have always gone through tolls as class2 ..... I have just called Sanef and unfortunately my m/h is 30Kg too heavy to officially be registered as Class 2 and they recon I'm lucky not to have been stopped.

Aparently the criteria for Class 2 are;-
a) Under 3.0M height - (mine complies)
b) Under 3500Kg unladen weight - (mine is 3530Kg)

I think I will stick to paying at the barriers, particularly as we very rarely use the toll routes.

That's unlucky Steve
Looks like it was damaged before the courier got it. This is the peril of DIY
I've had my share of returns

Just arrived the second one of these:
reasonably accurate within about 0.2 amps so I can have one in each of my power outlets on the dash. One connected to Vehicle battery and the other to the leisure batteries. They were £1.72 when I ordered the first one now £1.46 postage paid. How can they do it for the price.

Goes with the territory I suppose. Still nothing from supplier will give him till Monday then I will have to start a dispute.
What do you think of the look of the panel, the stained foil connection strips look a bit odd or am I being too picky. I suppose the answer lies in the final output.
My current ones which are perhaps eight years old are giving half what they should in series with the MPPT controller.
Have a good holiday in Germany.

A few months ago I bought a Ralink USB directional Wi Fi aerial. Never had much luck with it in uk but now in Spain with poor wi fi on sites its worth its weight in gold picking up from the other end of the site :thumb:

Don't know what most of this stuff is  and don't you need hookup for a microwave?

And now have one spare. :)

Cheers,

Jock.

Does it go on the roof?
It can do Souix, but I prefer to use that particular one mounted from the dashboard. The omnidirectional WiFi antenna (small pole type)that I have, is mounted on the roof, when in use.

Not if you are humping around the battery capacity that Andy does. ;)

Cheers,

Jock.

What stops the "T" bar from flapping around when the door is closed, is it latched in position or just a loose hinge? I am just thinking if it can flap around when you are traveling.
Do you still have the Ebay link?

Thanks
Mike

If it is like the door retainers used on box trucks and trailers, they tend to be spring loaded, but no doubt Andy will confirm this, (or not as the case may be). ;)

Cheers,

Jock.

Thank you, I have just ordered mine. Should be waiting for me when I get back from France, I am sat alongside the river in glorious sushine at the Aire in Montetherme:coolest::inlove:

A Taylor made silver screen . Very impressed with quality and fit. Also fenwicks motorhome cleaner , overwinter stuff ( forward planning) and bobby dazzler. Have used their caravan cleaner and Bobby D before. Good stuff

Another throw for Ela our motorhome and a long handled sheepskin bonneted washing doofer for cleaning her.
