THIS week I bought

Just took delivery of a new Duvalay - my god it's HUGE! I thought sleeping bags collapsed down to the size of a toothpaste tube these days. Not sure If I can get this one through the door.....🤪

An Amazon Echo Dot 3rd generation for the van so Alexa can tell me the temperature in the van's fridge and freezer without opening the door
and to give us local information on places we are at while we are away in the van as well as all the other things you do via Alexa.
Bought the Echo Dot 3rd gen as it is 12v powered, so easy to power from the van 12v system.

Have you bought a 12v power supply for this please? If so, which one? Thanks!

You could maybe just cut off the 240v power brick from the power cable and connect that into your van 12v system, but I'm using the same type stabilised adjustable power supply that I'm using to power the Rasp Pi's on our van as I'm unsure if the Echo Dot would get upset with the variations in battery voltage.

<Broken link removed>

I bought this lead for the correct power plug for the Echo Dot and just cut off the USB end and connected it to the power supply I'm using.

Wouldn't it have been quicker just to say "new engine"?....😁

Well that didn't quite go according to plan! :cautious: Due to collect it today and got an email this morning to say it's out of stock so won't be available for click&collect leaving just a pack of dog food in the 'basket' which we'd used to get it above the £25 min and get round the £4.00 picking charge, plus 50p for the collection slot. Hubby rang customer services to cancel the order as no point paying 50p for a collection slot nor having to go just for the dog food!

Having scoured the internet etc to try to source a suitable electric blanket for Mum without luck, or paying double the price, we decided to still go to the store and surprise surprise there on the shelf were at least 6 of them so we managed to get one for her and use a £6 off a £40 spend voucher we'd received yesterday. :giggle:

We also went to Krispy Kreme for our free doughnuts too ... hubby got a lotus biscoff one and I got a Christmas tree! :tounge:

haven't you been busy

We have now done a few 100 miles on the new tyres and they are a night and day difference to the originals.

225 75 16??

How do you find them noise wise?

Cheers James
They are the same size as the originals, so yes 225 75 16 and load rated correctly and no noticeable noise difference but loads more comfort.

They look great - also interested to hear what difference that make - would you be ok to say how much they cost? Cheers
They were £632.36 off blackcircles fitted then I sold the old Vancos with 7mm tread for £130.

Hopefully this will work <Broken link removed> can’t seem to copy link. Made by a fellow motorhomer if doesn’t work email Leigh on motorhomesatnavholder@gmail.com

This week I bought an electric blanket (as mentioned previously) but its going back! :cautious:

Double checked with the care home and despite being told it was okay, now informed it's not in case Mum leaves it on despite it having a safety 'turn off' feature ... darn and blast ... gonna have to find her something else now ... thinking of a nice warm mattress topper instead.
