THIS week I bought

I assume you meant the axe & cleaver?
Having cleaned the cleaver I don't think it is a butcher's one as it looks a bit home made. the other double sided one is annoying me as I am sure at the back of my mind I have seen/read about what it is but for the life of me can't remember.Any info appreciated.

That double side thing looks suspiciously like a tool I watched a slate layer use

Can you let me know what you think of this ?

Very happy with, it its easy to put together no matter what shape the bed etc is and its easily adjusted to suite other you want softer or firmer. We have found the seats/ beds much more comfortable, rsther ike sitting in a comfy sprung chair which of course you are. I doubt foam replacements would be better and of course you can remove the system if you want to change your van. The only thong to mention is they may the seats 3 inches higher bu5 thatwasnt a problem for us. I expect the system will be ing lasting as its very tough plastic

Thanks, iandsm, I think i'm going to go for it for the side I sleep on!

Is the one on the left a thatchers tool?

Old mo I can’t make out why you would buy a car if you don’t drive anymore?
Today I bought new number plates without the EU flag so I am ready either way ?

Cos the Mrs had a brand new Honda Jazz a few years ago and loved it...

I mentioned about getting a replacement for her ageing Peugeot people carrier, (3yr old 5008)..

And she said she did not want to change... so I thought buy her a car she loves and she will change her mind.....

Wrong.!!!!!!

I don`t want a new car you keep it... says her.... :frowny:

But you loved your Honda.... But I like my Peugeot... :fubar:

It looks like a tool used by a thatcher, for tamping down the thatch., not sure if the other cleaver type one is for thatching though.

We twiddle with the clocks tonight so, in preparation for the darker nights, bought this for the dog. If it's any good might get one for husband too. :D
Amazon product ASIN B06XP66HRN
Dillon has a flashy flicker thing that hangs off his collar.. Had it a couple of years now but the batteries are still good and we can spot him even when deep in the forest :-)

Oh dear you can’t do anything right at the moment can you?. Don’t bother with the lotto this week, you won’t win. You know makes sense.

Just bought a new ehu lead, when putting it away on site this week, I realised it was supplied with our Holdsworth fanfare in 1989, after 30 years, I decided to splash out.

I went along to Richard Holdsworth’s place in the late seventies or early eighties when they were still doing vw conversion kits. They had their new coachbuilt prototype their which Looked very good. I never did buy a Holdsworth van though. You have awoken memories.

The double sided one looks like a 'splitter' to me, for separating the carcass/bones/joints rather than 'chopping' it ... just a guess though!

Bought a compass for the van. We use a phone app Freepoint UK to find out which way to point the aerial, but we never know where north is:doh:

Our back axle weight was to close for comfort to the load rating on our Continental Vanco Camper 215 70r15 tyres so I have just fitted new 225 wide tyres onto nice new set of 16" alloys.

As someone who has 'uprated' the tyres on our 15" wheels and, in the process got very close to accuracy on the speedometer. How did you circumvent the accuracy changing to 16" wheels.

Our original tyres were Continental Vanco Camper 215 70r15 and we changed to the Hankook RA18 Vantra LT 225 65R16 which are a slightly larger diameter than the Continental's.
Going by the satnav on a straight and non height deviating stretch of the A14 by us, the speedo error at 60 mph on the Continental's was just on 5 mph on the high side and now with the Hankook's it's 3 mph on the high side.
I had done my homework on the tyre side wall profiles to try and keep as close to the height and rolling diameter of the Continental's before going for the Hankook's as going for the normal motorhome run 75 profile on 16" would have had the speedo reading under true road speed and would have increased our ride height.

Thanks for that.
The other benefit, in addition to the bigger load factor is a reduced height of sidewall giving you a tyre with slightly less roll around the bends.
Well done.
