couple of weeks ago we were ONLY buying some new uPVC soffits, facias and guttering, but ended up having to have some timber replaced in the roof due to rot and woodworm so instead of it costing £1800 it cost us £6500!!!

So I thought what the hell, I've always wanted a conservatory so we're about to spend another £7,800 on that (4.1m x 3.5m Edwardian style) which includes 2 new uPVC doors too - one is the existing kitchen door (that leads onto our side drive) and a new one at the rear of the kitchen where there's currently a window so we'll be able to get into the conservatory that way. The chap's coming back next week to measure up more accurately as we've now cleared away some of the plants etc so we'll be 'committing' to it then! :Eeek:

I've already been buying some furniture for it though  - as I already have a nice 'custom made' small teak pedestal dining table that will come out of it's storage spot in the workshop and be used in there plus:
  • I won a couple of Ikea Boliden chairs with footstools on Ebay yesterday (see below) for £26.55! Just gotta pick them up as they're 40 miles away.
  • have picked up 4 nice 1940s/50s style solid dining tables from a car boot sale today for just £6 in really fantastic condition
  • a set of 3 sturdy wicker coffee tables for £2 again at the car boot sale this morning which I will paint up to match the rest of the furniture
  • I'd already bought a couple of directional floor standing spot-lamps at the weekend for £6 too

so just need a small sofa of some sort ... might have to hold off on that though as I don't have anywhere to store one for now!

Soooooooo .... all I need is the conservatory to put it all in! :thumb:

Sounds like an expensive few days! We got our conservatory a few years ago, best thing we ever bought, it gets used all year round and adds lots of extra space
Enjoy

Two more leisure batteries (correct polarity) and the online firm accepted the return of the other two which were ordered wrong.:thumb: (My fault for ordering the wrong ones, now know brown wiring is earth and black is positive on a Burstner opp5 ). Hopefully hubby fitting this weekend. :thumb:

Bought the boss a Shearling sheepskin dufflecoat :thumb: well 2 actually but sent one back because she was unsure on size  Sent the other back via local Asda and some new returns thing that allows parcel co to pick up from local shops rather than paying through the nose at post office
Recomend the co to anyone looking for a leather /sheepskin :thumb:

Got to be the bargain of the week
ALDI damp meter for 49p :thumb::thumb: it was reduced from £12.99 down to £4.99 but I got a save £5 when you spend 40 quid so after 50p for the paper or if you buy the paper any way, I in effect got it for minus 1p :thumb::BigGrin:bargain :thumb: so I ended up buying 3 :Doh:but the other 2 cost a fiver but will get the money back next week and the week after :BigGrin:No doubt I will end up giving the other two away :Smile:mine will be a spare

A wholesale sized bacon pack from the butchers ready for our next outing.
We have not been out for 4 weeks --:Eeek: we will feel a little strange venturing out --will I have forgotten what goes where

There's even comment, that the delay may go on for as long as 2020 before the switchover is complete. :Eek!:

This week we bought our 1st motorhome, a 2011 Le Voyageur, with EVERYTHING you need to go travelling with. Thank you Graham and Sandra, we know you didn't want it to go, but it is in a very good and much appreciated home!

This week (today in fact), after weeks of shopping around and much deliberation we bought our 1st MH.
She's a 1998 Elddis Autostratus TS SE Climatic in lovely condition and with everything working!!
Drove her the 100 miles back home without a hitch and without too much disappointment with the lack of power.
It's actually smoother and quieter than either of us expected.
I guess the journey starts here...............:thumb:
