This is the new server

Hopefully this should be resolved now. I have configured nginx as a proxy forwarder on the old server to the new server. Not sure if this will work 100% but should in theory.

Wouldn’t work with n WiFi but all ok on data

Run on Heroku, then you can just scale up a few dynos! :)

Mine seems to be working now, was working before but every time I clicked on another link in thread went to this is the old thread message and struggled to log on again.
So hopefully that’s a fix

That may be as a result of the proxy. If you are hitting the old server (UK based) which is then forwarding to the new server. The new server will see the old server IP rather than yours.

Just got new server on Safari 👍

Where will we find the link to the "if you feel that this Motorhome Fun temporary shut down has affected your mental health in anyway, then please click the link or ring the number below to speak to one of our trained advisors "
I definitely needed that link as I need my morning Fun and I was getting a bit twitchy ... only just managed to get back on as neither my phone not laptop would work even after trying the 'suggestions'.

So what did everyone do on the great motorhome fun 2024 blackout? ::bigsmile:
Have palpitations!

My mobile knows where the new server is, my regular broadband, Zen, is still sending-me to the old server.

There will be a lot of frustrated Funsters out there today stuck looking at the old server. Nothing we can do, they must wait until their ISP’s catch up.
Tell me about it [frustrated face] ... I can't get the smilies to work now so having to type what I want to display [sad face].

That's probably why I am now able to get on ... where's me smilies gone though [very sad crying face].

Summuts going on Jim, when I click on the smilies sometimes it just says loading other times I get the 'server announcement' page briefly show up!

Are my smileys working :cool::smiley::happy:::bigsmile::blusher::winky::frowny::crying1::hi:
I can see them. Just tried to add one to the end of this and got the server message pop up again ...

I'm off shopping for an hour or so, hopefully it'll be sorted when I get back or there'll be trouble! [punching smilie] [LOL]

Phew!!! That took a while to get back in. I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms!

Did you change the dns TTL (time to live) entry to a lower value before you started, so the propagation was faster.

Yes we've done this a number of times now. Gromett migrates a couple of servers most nights and has done for years, so we know where we are. But we have lots of working parts, and have plenty of plates spinning come the migration but everything went well. A combination of user and ISP caches can mean some users will take longer to find us than others

Looks like your browser has cached the old server smileys, clear your cache and you'll be sorted (y)

We have about 1100 people on-line, normally at this time it would be well over 2000, but the numbers are going up and gradually Funsters are finding us.

Sorry for delay, yes all good now thanks

Found you yaaay after sleepless night in wilderness!but yes smilies lost as has been reported, no point in me trying any of the suggested fixes as all incomprehensible to me ( VPN a bit like visible panty line in adverts long ago for seamless silhouette) but have own emojis. In keyboard😄😄😄. So hoping all is well ( world is chaos but MHF back . Phew.)

Not getting an email for two step verification to log back in (not in spam either). Had to use backup code.

That should work again now. Thanks for letting us know.

Working absolutely fine and dandy.

Thanks Jim and your army of helpers.👍
