The Spanish Job - Final Planning

Hi Brian
I posted a question to you regarding Spain, along with many others to other people but do not get replies, which may mean I am looking in the wrong place.
Where should I look for replies please?
Another question, if you don't mind, 'How do I find out who is going to Spain and how do I them?
Your help would be appreciated.
Gaudie

Sorry, old-mo posted a perfect answer to your question so it was pointless me just duplicating it.

Basically only Brittany Ferries now. As a guide we paid £650 return.

I use Search ( Up above in blue ) and click View All Your Posts then look down the list to the post I made, click that and see if any have followed.

How do I find out who is going to Spain and how do I get in touch with them please.

Hi Gaudie

Everyone is making there own way here - some of us are already on the campsite at Zahora!

Some people are arriving before Christmas and staying for a month or so, others are arriving Jan or Feb. Some are only staying a few days - we are staying until April or May!:thumb:

It is an informal get together - not a very organised meet!

All you can do is read backwards through this thread and the other one and see who says they are going. There is no formal list.

To contact anyone on here you left click the name and you will see Send a Private Message.

To see your Private Messages look top right under Welcome GAUDI.

Hi Gaudie!

I answered your question that you put on another of the Spanish Job threads, maybe you didn't see it? Here it is again.

Hi Gaudie and thanks for your interest in this!

Just let me know when you are coming and your real name so I can reserve you a pitch.
Although if you don't it doesn't really matter as the site is never full in the winter.
It is now an ACSI site so is getting more popular with the Dutch and Germans.

The temp today has only been 18° and it has rained on and off all day. Last week it was up in the early 20's every day and sunny. We expect it to pick up again by late tomorrow.

At the moment it is 15° but it is 6.45pm and still drizzly - so not too bad really!
Dec and Jan are usually the worst months but don't get really cold. They are the wettest months. Last year was particularly bad so I wouldn't like to use it as an example!

Would be lovely if you decided to join us - as has been said before in other threads - this is an informal get together so nothing organised about it - just a group of funsters on the same site - don't believe Hilldweller's hype!! I'm going to get him certified when he arrives!!

Hope this answers some of your questions!

Hi Billy and Val

We are about 6 miles from Conil de la Frontera.

There is a bus from near the campsite at 10.45 each morning into Conil. It returns at 1pm. Another one leaves here at 2.30pm and returns at 3.50pm. They operate Monday to Friday.

We hire a car from time to time - we have one at the moment - €350 for a month (approx)

Other than that we walk! There are some lovely walks from the campsite. 20 minutes walk to the beach.

There is an excellent supermarket at the front of the site.

Just been on the web site and it looks like there are no places left available for the dates we were hoping to be there

Conil if up a bit. Cadiz is up a bit more and Jerez where the gas is is up a bit and hang a right.

Yup, it was the link on your other post that I used to get on the site..

Perhaps I am doing something wrong.. Used the reserve pitch and selected the dates Jan 18th for 16 nights..

Comes back with something like 'no options for those dates, please try another selection' (though my spanish is about level with my martian ! )

No problem with a pitch at that time! It doesn't get busy until Easter! PM with your surname and I'll get Carmen to reserve you a pitch!

Cheers peeps ! :-)
The date may change by a day either way but the ferry is booked so we are committed !

Surname is Smith ( well it WOULD be wouldn't it LOL !!! )

Well yes I suppose you WOULD be called John Smith! :Rofl1::Rofl1:

We had a group of Spanish campers on the site this weekend - about 60 units I believe - motorhomes and caravans. It was a like a Spanish version of MotorhomeFun!:Rofl1::Rofl1:

They were celebrating the start of the Christmas season with a Zambomba Flamenca - 2 days of partying with music and dance and food and drink - even Christmas carols!

We were invited to join them last night - we left about 12.45 - we later heard that they finally packed up about 5.30am!! We managed to join in with Jingle Bells! They are such great fun and very hospitable!

Here are a couple of video clips!

Kath

The campsite owners were very worried that we had been disturbed by them - we pointed out though that it's their country and it only happens a few times over the winter! They're always very friendly and you can't help but get caught up in their enthusiasm! You often get the children coming around to us trying out their English!

"Hilldweller" and myself are going to bring our Morris Men Bells and regalia..

You are all in for a big suprise,, and awe at the wonder of how to poltry gentlemen can dance around like a couple of light footed fairy`s as we do.. :Rofl1:

Ooooooh Champers, Now I am even more envious...... are you sure you can't fit me in your suitcase please
