Those wheels are in an awful state with standing all those years. Looking great now though.

I had new discs and pads on the front last year, and the pads (don't know what brand though), have done nothing but squeal when cold, so I think I'll get a set of Brembo, Ferodo, or Bosch.

changed the ball valve on the hear exchanger. The first one I'd bought on ebay from the link posted on here was not the right one . Too small inside so garry nipped out to a few places to find another.

Sorry if the links I supplied where the wrong size Alde must have used a different size I guess what size did the thread end up being was it 1/2" BSP instead of 3/8" will just help others in the future if needed.

I fitted Mintex disc and pads to my Hymer and they squealed, contacted Mintex and they sent me some stick on anti squeal pads , don’t know why they didn’t supply them originally. Sorted the problem

Yes I was going to say a common fault nowadays is some new pads don't have shims on them to stop the squealing.

Not according to the tyre manufacturer.

I am plated at 6850Kgs, and in full holiday mode with E-Bikes onboard, I'm running at 5850Kgs.

My tyre wear is consistently even, both across and around the tread, on both front and rear.

From memory your Flair is very evenly balanced with the rear axle about double the front on a weigh bridge so I have done this as one calculation but normally would do it for each axle, for tyre pressures I use a rule of thumb, actual axle weight divided by maximum axle weight multiplied by the maximum tyre pressure, your tyres will be 121 rated so 1450kg per wheel and a maximum pressure of 5.75 bar or 83.4 psi, @ 6 wheels maximum load would be 8700kg = 5850/8700 = 0.672 using 83.4 psi as the maximum 0.672x83.4=56.0448 psi I then usually add 10% to that to cover any imbalance side to side so I would be happy with 62 psi which luckily is very close to the figures you got from Falken the Palace is much heavier on the front axle at just over 2600kg when empty vs yours at about 1900kg I think so I run 76 psi front, it was delivered with over 80 all around and running empty that wasn't good.

Yes our front axle load is rated at 2900kg which is more than some vans are running all up

Anybody with 225x75x16 might find this table interesting, it's from Continental but I don't believe the name matters its down to the designed load rating and maximum pressure.

S is for single and T is for twinned wheels, then it's just axle load referenced up to pressure in bar 1 bar = 14.5 psi.

Fortunately both front and rear pads I got for this had them fitted.

I've not had this on a weighbridge yet , might try that one near uncle Lenny HB before I go over the water just to see what I'm weighing in at in full fettle


I'll try the rears at 62psi for now and see how that works.

I'm planning to replace all these tyres for all season ones next spring anyway. But might get the front pair changed before I go away incase that's the cause of my slight vibration on the front.

I have the fronts set at 65psi for now which seemed okay

We are actually plated at 2300Kgs on the front axle Martin, but appreciate actual running weight might be less. Trial and error with tyre pressures and front air bag pressures finally settled at 4 - 4.2 bar in the tyres, and 3 - 3.5 bar in the air bags. A higher tyre pressure became bone shakingly uncomfortable. Falken got it spot on with their advice re pressures and axle weights.

Not to worry the one on ebay was only £3.50 so no big loss. I wasn't sure of the sizes and the outside looked the same when it arrived .

Yes get that Jock, I think yours weighs about 1900 ish on the front, plated will be higher for sure, ours is plated 2900 and running over 2600kg auto box retarder and 200 litres of fuel doesn't help so I try to load all heavy stuff in the garage and light stuff at the front.

We have one of those but red handle,

The handle of your valve is color-coded. This helps to identify the Ball valve version. If your handle is red, it means the seal is EPDM. If your handle is green, it means the seal is FPM (FKM or VITON). If your handle is yellow, it means the valve is our special valve for Sulphuric acid.

I originally came from mechanical background too Brian, I served my time with Taggarts Austin rover then Ford....but due to unfortunate events I left that trade in my early 20's and went in to various other things , powder coater , welder , metal fabrication etc etc .
Every company I ever worked for got in to trouble and shut down lol. So various jobs.

Always did most of my own vehicle maintenance though unless it was a job not easily done on the ground . Its taken its toll though as my knees etc are now knackered. But still do what I can myself

The hard part with this van and moby is everything is so big and bleeding heavy lol .

The good thing though is I've been on every nook and cranny so I know it's a solid van . Just a shame the original chassis paint is all flaking off . Looks terrible but is just flaky paint.

If the morrocans are willing to lie under it for a week and clean all that up and paint it that will be the plan .

Tam used cheap ones from eBay they are OK for the price. I have them from both Amazon and eBay and had part of the strip fail on one others I've found they lose brightness over a few years.
Now I'd rather buy from Aten lighting but they are 30 quid instead of 5 but guaranteed quality.

I installed a strip in the MH garage a few years ago, from Amazon, and they’re fine, but basic. I’d quite like to install some in the hab area too. The Amazon ones certainly aren’t a fiver!

What about these, Lenny? I’d need a proper dimmer switch and probably a few of the 8mm connectors as well, for joining different sections together, I reckon.
