I’d rather be sitting in my centrally heated bungalow in Not Glasgow than tour round some dirty dusty African country. 😉😜
Quite happy to see you doing it, I have read All your previous travels and comments of them.

JockandRita what tyre pressures are you running on the rear of your van?
I'm guessing you've 225 75 16s
4 - 4.2 x bar Tam, (same in the fronts), as advised by Falken's Tech Dept for their EuroAll Season Van 2 tyres, and my actual axle weights.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

This cornish weather is a pain in the arse ... all the wheels and brakes stripped off one side ..all going well and the heavens opened , wet tools wet paint wet dugs and it lasts 20 minutes then pity's off again .

Everything soaked
Can't you rig up some sort of shelter at the side?
Same in Scotland mate, I am widening my gate to get the Arto in easier and trying to get some cementing done but the heavens keep opening up🙈.
You'll soon be there vans looking great 👍.
Cheers Cris 🍻.
You want to do what a chap that came today is doing - he's bought a tent we were flogging to use over his pond whilst he does some cement etc work on it! :giggle: It's a brand new tent so we thought he was daft but he said he'll be careful with it as he wants to use it for camping next year!

Whits that in real money

I've got the fronts at 65 which seems OK

Not sure whether to put rears at 65 or 70

Not according to the tyre manufacturer. ;)

I am plated at 6850Kgs, and in full holiday mode with E-Bikes onboard, I'm running at 5850Kgs.

My tyre wear is consistently even, both across and around the tread, on both front and rear. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Not doubting you , it just seems quite low for such a heavy van. I ran the rears on moby at 60psi but I expected this to be higher. Tyres on moby were only 185 75 16.

I'll check what's in these already tomorrow and see . I

Its sitting just on 1 wheel a side at the minute lol

But wasn't Moby single wheeled on the rear Tam? Both our Iveco Daily chassis is twin wheeled, with each tyre capable of at least 1000 - 1100Kgs, or even higher pending the rating. (y)
On the tandem axled Hymer with 215/75/16s, I ran the 4 x rears at the same pressures, and again, consistently even wear experienced. (y)

Jock. :)

Started off this morning by repairing and reinforcing the wooden brace bars that run under the sofa base ... the base board under the cushion was sagging a little at times. So it's nice and sturdy now

Then I set about removing rear wheels .

These haven't been off in a while, once again I was grateful for the torque multiplier which makes removal much easier. The brackets that hold the wheel trims on are a right pain on the rears though it has to be said .

Anyway got it jacked up and shored up with a second jack under the airbag arm and wheels off . Very rusty again but cleaned up reasonably well with the grindr and wire wheel.

Stripped brake pads out , once again they were the original iveco Brembo pads , still loads of wear on them but cracks throughout so needed changing .. I was just trying to find some on euro carparts etc when I remembered I'd bought 2 sets of spares for moby that were in the shed and as luck would have it they're the same ones as the rears on doc ... so I cleaned up and painted the wheels and then removed ,cleaned up and renewed the brake pads . As the wheels are still wet I've just refitted one wheel each side until tomorrow and then I'll get all the wheels back on and the wheel trims refitted. While I was on the wheels Just smiffy changed the ball valve on the hear exchanger. The first one I'd bought on ebay from the link posted on here was not the right one . Too small inside so garry nipped out to a few places to find another. We managed to get one with a different handle on it but it fits and done the job . No leaks at present but will recheck it tomorrow as it was getting late and we lost a fair bit of water so had to have the engine running while refilling it and checking for leaks. Hopefully that's sorted
