The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

When you look at the photos from the beginning to now the difference is astonishing....and seeing that huge solar panel on the table, then on the roof it gives you a sense of how enormous the van is. I see your bumper colour has deteriorated will it be back to black or a paint finish?

I'm feckin knackered , Just smiffy has sat on his arse all day ....while I've been grafting . 😁🤣🤣 .

Joking aside my arms are hanging off.

Here's some photos.

The front bumper and wheel arches have faded with the sun . The rear bumper and side skirts though polish up lovely. If the front don't polish it will be repainted in Morocco this winter

Just the one panel then  ?

:imoutahere:
At the moment .. but it is 410watt . I might add more later if I need them . The aircon unit don't work so might be removed and I'd fit another good sized panel over there.

Have you seen anyone else with one of these panels as to how they work, they sure are cheap and saves having to join smaller ones together at more than twice the price

Lots of self build van folk using them . Same connections etc that are on the other panels I've used. Can't beat the price really. They have 550watt ones too for about 65 quid . But they're a bit bigger again .

This one fits well in that space. I had 400 watt on moby but only a 100ah battery so it was a bit overkill really.

Does cleaning them make much/any difference in performance? Panels on houses never get cleaned but I guess at an aaangle so water washes off more rather than just sitting on them.
Ours get cleaned every two years and we are in rainy Scotland. It does make a difference - about a 10% increase in output.

Good days work today and it all went better then planned, when the solar cables arrive I’ll be up there again running them in the van, that back bumper has come up like new and original greyish colour, I don’t think you should paint it…

Looks great chaps.
Don’t you think the air / wind will get under the panels where the Ali does not go right to the edge of the panels & lift the panel when your motoring?
I would have thought you want space for air to get out from under the panel to equalise with the reduced pressure on top of the panel when driving (creating lift like a plane wing)

Not painting back bumper .. only front bumper and front wheel arches if they don't polish up.

Why this obsession with Morocco? My experience is not to trust them further than you could throw them.
There's no obsession with morroco. I'm going there anyway to escape uk winter.

To have the paintwork sorted in the UK would be around 4/5 times the price I can have it done in Morocco.

Your both amazing I wouldn’t have like to get that up there👍well done.thats some solar panel.ps your back bumper is like new.i wouldn’t have room on my roof.View attachment 950446
This very clean roof should not go unappreciated..

Hi ho silver

P.s ... if this is a recent photo though Brian Flairy keep an eye on those seals round your skylights as the front one there is starting to perish and dry up.

I think every skylight in this van has leaked and I've watermarks 😔

Just been on the direct ferries website this morning , ferry on 5th November at 11am from Newhaven to dieppe for Doc ,me and the 4 furbums... £179 . That's very good .

Now do I book it? And assume everything is going to be sorted out by then or is it tempting fate? Remember I'm a scot lol and the ferry prices go up the closer you get to your date and I dinnae like that lol.

What's the matter with it , looks ok to me?
Just covered in green slime and left to fade and leak in the sun chick. Needs a good wash and a polish before it gets any worse. Those graphics are ruined now they'll never clean up
