The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

Well I think they were all standardised but not in 2001. I had the same thing with my Sprinter,(chassis cab built June2005) got an OBD code reader but it couldnt communicate as my OBD port is round and OBD standardised isnt. The first adapter i bought didnt work as not all the pins were connected, (seems a regular thing with the Sprinter cables). Ended up getting one from Autel along with another code reader and that works fine.

Although they are both round connectors the on Jock posted has a lot more pins than the Sprinter one so mine wouldnt be of any use to you. Would advise you buy an appropriate adaptor as you will need one if you want to use a code reader

I’ll do the remap for you Tam and if you don’t no any difference I’ll refund you 50%…😎
Is this what you had in mind to increase his horsepower 😂😂😂😂

You should have a standard obd port under dash on yours Vic. All my fiat 2.8 models have.

Met chippy63 this morning in Birmingham after I left the tuning guys in Pershore, thanks to him I now have a double skillet as he had one free in the classifieds . I also have a load of other stuff lol as no one was taking him up on his free stuff. So I've a set of ramps, a ratts tails door curtain , a stacking storage box and a few other bits 🤣🤣 sk much for my van staying empty.

But in truth I will use the things I took.

I then joined the m6 carpark once I'd made my way back out of Birmingham hopefully avoiding the clean air zones I saw a million signs for

Tailbacks for about 45 minutes on m6 then finally got up here to cannock, parked up at cannock chase a popular spot with dog walkers and doggers alike lol ..

Dogs enjoyed a good run around as they haven't been off the lead in a good couple of months. Lovely warm sunny day today.

Having no luck with remap so far unfortunately. I'll have to phone celtic tuning back and tell them I'm not impressed by their agents so far and see what they have available on the south coast

I've tried phoning asda Stafford opticians 4 times now in the last hour and no one answers so I think I'll just stick with Specsavers. From other comments anyway it's unlikely they'd send my glasses elsewhere and to be honest I've always had to have new glasses adjusted etc so better just sticking with what I'm uses to

I had the same problem with the OBD-II port on our 2005 Frankia, based on MB Sprinter. It had a 16 pin circular connector.

You probably won't want to hear this but Celtic Tuning are based in Newquay - that's the one in Cornwall, not Wales. Good luck with the remap.

That place in Stafford chaser mentioned has just got back to me claiming this is chip tuning only lol.

So someone else that clearly doesn't really know what he's doing
Ask funflair Martin where he got the remapping done. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Yes I know that's where they're based. In hindsight I should have just got the bleeding thing done down there but I wanted to drive it a bit first so I got the feel for how it was on hills etc .

They might have had better customer values than any of their agents I've spoke to so far.

As it is that's 5 different ct agents I've spoke with , 2 in Wales, 3 in Midlands and they are all terrible.

Having no luck with any of the others either though unfortunately

Please don't jump down my throat, it's only a thought but do you think that they might all be right and it can't be done, have you actually seen one done?

Celtic tuning gave me a quote for doing the remap when I first bought the van .

I've just been on the phone with them again and he now tells me that only their head office in Newquay has the correct protocols for this van 🤨

Feck sake

I believe Tam's 2.8 TDi/HDi Iveco engine is the same as our 3.0 unit, albeit 2 x years older and a couple of hundred cc less, so I would say yes, I'm sure it can be done............but happy to be corrected. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Apparently having just spoken to celtic tuning again this van is registered on the hgv protocols and not the standard one so only their head office in Newquay can do the remap . None of their agents not even their own branch in Derby ( which was my next option) can do it.

And I'm not going back down to Cornwall
