The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

Why is it I find all the incompetent professionals. What a waste of time.

Long story short they can't do it . Don't have the obd adapter.
Can't be very professional if they haven't got every one they might need you are perhaps better off out of that.

Sorry to read that Tam. After visting Iveco Blanes last January, I decided to buy one myself for around £12 off Fleabay, which my two mobile mechanics used recently to check out a brake light problem.
Like yours, it was a problem with a front caliper sensor, so all 4 x are isolated now, as the new pads (front & rear) didn't come with sensors fitted.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Awk that's a pity Tam 😕
I'm sure there must be adapters available for your make & model?... I wonder do their HQ in Cornwall have them or know a way around it...
** just saw they're available all over the Internet so you'll probably need to get one now anyway for any future diagnostics you might need 👍

It seems that way .. really pissed off.
Not surprised at your reaction.

The incompetence of some professionals is only matched by their arrogance.

It's strange isn't it! Tam had it booked in and obviously gave them the details of his van. He arrives the van looks in fantastic condition and probably has low miles and then they don't have the correct OBD cable. Maybe that's the only explanation.

Asda used to post to another shop that did eye tests but when we asked this summer they said they do not do it anymore.

I’ll do the remap for you Tam and if you don’t no any difference I’ll refund you 50%…😎
There are at least two garages in uttoxeter that advertise these sort of things. Do they actually do it themselves or just pass it on?

There is one here in Stafford, if they are any good you could combine it with your eye test stop.

They are all over eBay , why would they not have one.
I think they just get used to modern stuff with standard OBD but as Tam would have stated the age/reg you thought that might have made them check, just lazy.
They claim ( bullshit) that all obd plugs were standardised from 2001 and that while my van is a 2004 it must have been built before 2001 .

Yet this is the standard obd port for all iveco dailies from 2000 to 2006 models

I'm just pissed off I'd booked it In to them and now I've to try and find somewhere to do it
