That was actually why we joined Fun ;) a quick Google of what's on with a motorhome over New Year and that was all we could find so joined, and the rest as they say.....
If that was the first (perhaps the only) New Year Rally at Uttoxeter Racecourse, we were at it too. It was a cracking Meet. :xThumb: Wildbill was there in his traditional Scottish attire, and brought along a barrel of his Home Brew for all to sample. ;)

Here's a couple more photos from us..............

Me in my silver suit when stationed at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, 1982 - 85, on the largest equipped Fire Section in the Royal Air Force, (at that time).

RAF Photos (1400x430) copy.webp

Us on a Balloon Flight in 2009, which we treated ourselves to as an anniversary present to each other. It took us about 6 x previous attempts over many months, before the flight actually took place.

The night of my retirement presentation from my Local Authority Fire Service. I was sad to have to leave the job, but I was pleased to get away from the politics and bulls##t of it all. ;)

Our second visit to France and making our way back to Calais, via Audinghen WW2 Museum.

It worries me to see the word virgin on it, dictionary says it's someone who's never done it before:xdoh:

Seeing as the theme of the thread is photos of ourselves, (then or now), is that you in drag Davy? :xrofl:

Jock. :xwink:
Jock, You obviously haven't seen him with, as is written in the article, his ' night-time face and hair care products' on before? 😄

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! 🥳

Here are two that I had to hand. The first is circa 1975 aboard the SS Hardwick Grange and I sent the original photo to my now wife from Buenos Aires. This is the front cover of a book of photos I made for our 40th anniversary.

The second is us on our wedding day 23rd June 1979 which sits in our bedroom as a reminder of youthful times 😊 and we are still very happily married after 45 years 😊

I have enjoyed looking at this thread and photos 😊

Somewhere There a photo off that meet but had a few beers to find tonight lol

This is me as a 18 year old and reigning Scottish League Senior Coarse Angling Champion proudly presenting Ian Heaps of Stockport, the reigning World Champion with a trophy for winning a club match the day after he presented me with my trophy at the annual Scottish Federation presentation dinner. I sat in his company the night before, he was an inspiration. To this day I'm still the youngest winner of the league. My finest hour which opened doors for me with sponsors for decades.:xThumb:

I think at that meet someone made Brian drink more than usual. 😁 Bob
Either it was 2014, or it was a different Brian, or it happened more than once. I well remember the occasion & 2014 was our 1st Misterton.

I joined FUN in Sep 13, got the current van in Nov 13, attended our 1st meet at Chester Easter 14 & then Misterton later that summer. Big thanks to Carol at Chester for making us so welcome to the community.

How was that balloon photo taken, from another balloon ?

King's Staith on the River Ouse at York. Taken in August 1955. My elderbrother, on the right, and I were ferrying our grandmother in our Pratts Collapsible dingy as she wanted to do some shopping in York and was trusting enough to allow a fourteen year old and his younger sibling to row her from our boat to the Staith. She was born in 1881 a date with both rotational and reflective symmetry it will be many thousands of years before a year occurs with similar properties.

Your right because we remember seeing you in your red van, we sold up in 2013 and changed from the a class to a panel van, got some photos somewhere when we visited the pub along the river. 😁 Bob.

No, from a camera which was reeled out on a line and pulley. :xwink:

The birds eye photo at Audinghen in France, was taken from the top of an old ex German Fire Service Turntable Ladder, bought by a photographer and film maker. He used our camera. :xThumb:

I'm sorry of course Sian has aged, living with Mr Brown would age anyone. Mr Brown was very lucky though, in the fact that Sian used to drink alot and after 10 pints Jim looked OK. In all seriousness a nice looking couple.
