The “funflair’s” head South

OK no more guesses @Anthea M you take the prize, even though there isn't one, I think the rules are you can't guess over so €9.60 you were pretty close.

The Old Harbour looks better today in the sun,

Looking back towards town and the Pont de Normandie (that's the big bridge), we might drive over it tomorrow, will just check the bank balance first.

sod that Martin, were the prices not shown before you ordered?

I really cant happily pay for coffee out, certainly not at that kind of price, especially when I can still see my MH :)

love the view and the sun shine :)(y)

€5.90 if it was a serious question

Sorry David, didn’t see your entry JEN say “do you mean each” in which case you have gone over:LOL: otherwise she says you are an even bigger skinflint than me,

Yes we saw the prices, and they charge more to sit out on the terrace so they are charging for sunshine,

Lunch was back at the van, cheese, meat, pate and two bottles of Leffe so time for a sleep.

Hot chocolate in a cafe, picnic lunch in the van .... sounds like my type of plan.

In contrast to your rip off Martin, in Castellon today, Rita had a coffee Americano, and I had the most wonderful hot chocolate ever.....................@ €4 for both. (y)

I don't know how the French can justify their prices. Honfluer, and Le Mont St Michel, are the two dearest locations I have come across for a beer. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

So we left Honfleur this morning and drove over the Pont de Normandie aka the "big bridge" class3 cost us €5 ish but that was OK. Then of course we were on the toll road up to the A28 got to the pay booth and it said class4 and about €24 so pushed "help" button and got recorded message in French, waited a while but traffic behind so just paid, soon as paid "bonjour" comes over the speaker. #robbed.

Anyway shopped at massive Auchan Grande Synthe and now parked at Brugges so easy day tomorrow and the ferry.

I'm disappointed in you Martin. ;) I thought I had fallen by the wayside when I went on the Bordeaux/Bayonne Toll on the A63. The bu@@ers wanted Class 4, but having stuck it out long enough, they conceded at Class 2. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

But Martin doesn't share your nationality Jock :)

below the border we still don't like to make a fuss (y)

Maybe not David, but he does share my (usual) preference for toll free routes. ;)

BTW, it's not a nationality thing, as I've met some right tight folks with an English (White Rose) heritage. Ow much? :Eeek: .............................

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

I don't know, Jen spoke to her mum and her brother last night and it wasn't mentioned, but Wylde Green would be the right area @Derbyshire wanderer so if it wasn't her he has a local area and a style, in his defence :mad: I will say she bruises very easily.

I will let you know when we find out.

Martin

Bless her, safe drive home today? Or are you overnighting tonight?

Yes certainly in the Birmingham Mail, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/police-release-shock-images-great-14240706

And the eagle eyed might spot my deliberate mistake, she is 87 not 85(y) my defence is I was trying to knock a couple of years off for her.

Martin

Couldn’t like your post despite finding it funny about your M in laws age Martin as those photos from the link are so flipping horrible. Safe trip home, I bet Jen’s mum will be pleased to see you and I hope she makes a good recovery from her ordeal.
