Some Interesting observations as I've been driving through france the last 4 days , I've not seen one police car, no accidents, no breakdowns, I've passed around 20 speed cameras ...all have been covered over with heavy black plastic taped on. Some places still have their Christmas trees and decorations up. It's as cold and wet as the UK in January. Fuel is more expensive than the UK.

That's normal. You left out "& at 8,pm it becomes a ghost country" everyone disappears

If it's any consolation it has been peeing it down south of Alicante today. And I've ran out of gas

Fortunately you are not far enough 'south' that we are getting any

As for your heating , you're from the East coast of Scotland , you shouldn't need heating until it's at least 5 degrees below freezing.

I had a crackling speaker on the dash that's been bugging me so while stopped for lunch I thought I'd remove the speaker and see if any obvious reason for the crackling


I found this

I've had a bloody mouse ....I say had and I sincerely hope it is HAD and not have ....same under the other dash speaker but not quite as bad.

Cleaned it all out and fixed the loose speaker connections so that's sorted now ..

I don't think it could still be living in there with the racket from the speakers ...but can't see how on earth it got In there In first place.

Still no further forward with battery charging ....it's taken some charge on the drive from poitiers to here

where I've stopped for lunch ...but it's also sunny and I suspect most of it was from the solar. Still not getting a correct reading for battery as I need to hook up to 240v to reset control panel.


It's dry and sunny and there's a nice wee walk here so gonna go excercise jade and see what the solar does when I'm out.

Doubt you'll get much from the solar when it clouds over to drench you on your latest dog walk!

Tam if your heading towards Toulouse There is an aire at Grisolles just north of Toulouse. Carpark behind the leisure centre by a canal so nice for walking jade. We were there last night.

So I moved only 18km south to this free aire that has everything including electric

I'm plugged in and still my panel is only showing +3...+2.9v and it's definately on because the fridge water heater etc is all working on electric. My panel is currently showing battery at 62%? As it needs to reset itself but I'm suspecting it's fully charged will wait and see what it reads in the morning.

Nice aire this too and a little shop right next to aire where I just got a large baguette , a litre of milk 6 apples and 6 oranges for €6

Can't complain eh with free unlimited electric.


I did have a French lady come and tell me I'm parked the wrong way so I have parked how she told me and I'm now sticking out in to the carpark lol ...I followed the diagram on the sign when I came in and thought I was parked correctly but who am I to argue.

Autogas was not showing the Berlin example posted, but I changed to Rennes in France and it appeared.

Is there no Autogas in Berlin?
