Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Aye I use Google translate when I need to but it's a long slow process and when they talk so fast and so much I can't type that fast
Try Microsoft Translator (yes there is an Android app), you can enter text, talk to it, take a photo of the text & have group converstions. Also it saves your photo/text translations.

I find them pretty useless too, my vans only done 17,000 & 2 years old, fronts down to 3.5mm & rears 4.5mm.
Be interesting to see how the new bridgestone winter ones last on the front
Judging by the near 4000miles I've done on this trip so far I'm estimating another 8 -10000 before I'm home so will see what the tyres are like when I'm back

I just downloaded that ...It's better but still thinks I'm saying feels instead of wheels

I've moved to here to park for tonight ...right between the sea and a lake ...And some weird wee houses.

The neighbours are making me miss my bike

I learned this at primary school and I still remember the words nearly 40 years later lol

Its stuck in my head and jade can almost sing it.

I've decided to download a few series of allo allo to help me learn as that English guy who pretended to be a policeman had it near perfect

I've recently watched the rerun of Allo Allo. Such a clever and funny series.

You've got the sea for a neighbour, stop coveting what you can't have! Some folks are never satisfied :D:D2

Who says I can't have it lol.

I'm buying another bike and a trailer as soon as I get back to Blighty.

If I could buy one here and manage to register and it insure it somehow I would but I reckon that would be a headache.

Anyone know if there are china/Asian bazaar type stores in France and if so what are they called ?

I need a phone cover

My chum here who has been sorting all my official paperwork for me was simultaneously enquiring about re-registering her husband's nearly new British sports bike (i think it's 1300cc) to Spanish, her husband isSpanish, it was going to cost more than my camper!

Anyway what would poor Milo and Jade do for a playmate if Dad got a motorbike.
When I had my bike back in Scotland my little Beardie would look really miserable if she saw me get out my bike /helmet, leathers coz she knew she couldn't come with me.
Later when I got my big road quad she would be really excited and jump up into her travelling box on the back.

Aye but if I bought one here and took it back to UK I wouldn't have that problem as registering there is easy and cheap.

But while I'm travelling I'm not sure how I could register one. I'd spoke about it with @gus-lopez but I think it woukd be more hassle than anything

I don't see why, I bought and insured a Spanish reg car in Spain before I had my residencia, all I needed for that was an NIE and any one can get one of those. A trailer for it might be more of a problem .
:)

I've tried loads about best I've found, often have to try a sentence two or three times especially when you take a pic of the text

But you will only be back in the UK temporarily, so then you will need a different trailer (probably Spanish compliant ).
You will end up like @ianthebuilder changing vehicles every couple of weeks
:p

I don't see why my motorbike trailer wouldn't be legal in Spain I won't be living there

So not having followed every post Tam, have you found a big difference touring with the smaller Hymer as opposed to the big Frankia?

But will you be from an EU member country?
I don't really know either Tam, I only know that for residents trailers are paired with their towing vehicles and have to undergo an annual "MOT ".
I expect @gus-lopez could tell you the true story (except the B**xit bit) lol(y)

You could popback into spain & find one whilst waiting for tyres. Bound to be something at La Jonquera commercial centre. Not worth the diesel cost probably though:LOL:

It is bound to if they are already resident.
The tax is 100% if less than 1 year old & 90% for 2 reducing each year by 10% until year 10 where it then stays at 10% of original value multiplied either by emissions figure or 4,1%

Not a big difference in access etc I don't feel the Frankia stopped me getting anywhere last year. But the hymer is definately easier to park and I prefer driving it.

Im sure it will be the same as our vehicles are at the minute. As long as they comply with UK law they will be fine in Europe.
Otherwise it would affect caravans car trailers etc too which it shouldn't.
