Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Often where multiple dogs feed together they get in to the habit of gulping the food as quickly as possible, in case it gets nicked from them (whether it's by their litter mates or other occupants of the kennel run.
Dogs feeding alone don't have that urgency and will quite often not "clear -up" and will come back to it later.
There is nothing as good as a bit of company to cure picky feeders and stimulate the appetite.
I know the feeling. .these days I've to wolf my dinner down before milo tries to steal it...He's got no fear now like he stands on jade and everything to try and get to me if I've any food biscuits even a bloody orange lol ...He's worse than jade lol

Not sure I’m correct but I seem to recal that if dogs eat their food to quick it can lead to twisted intestines, think labradors are one of the dogs more prone to it...

If he is the little gannet you say you've got a head start. Have lots of TINY treats to hand.
Don't say anything but make a clicking noise with your tongue on the roof of your mouth as he looks at you throw a treat down in front of him repeat this in quick succession multiple times (so prior to one of his meals is a good idea ).
The idea is he associates the click with a

Sorry lost that for some reason....getting a reward.
So when he does something on his own volition, as he does it you click and toss him a reward.
So if he comes toward you "click " and throw him a treat. Do this repeatedly and later introduce the words "Milo Come"
You can do the same thing with his late night pee etc

I'll give it a go

@Coastal Cruiser. Yes, gulping down food is not good for animals of any species and can lead to choking and digestive problems.
Twisted gut can and does happen , my parents lost a beautiful Irish Setter this way, although in her case it was caused by jumping and galloping about too soon after eating.

Tam, if you come via here on your way back north I'll give you marks out of ten on your progress :).
Seriously it is a purely positive and easy way of training, if you get the hang of it and get the timing right it is really amazing how much and how quickly they learn.

Might not be easy with jade there too though.
Even giving milo his antibiotics she thought she was missing something.
No way she'll let him get treats without her ha ha

Yes, that's absolutely right and is a problem. No one can train two dogs at once. It might mean your rewarding her for nothing at times. Alternatively for short training sessions you could tie one up or shut one in the van.
Or even take advantage of Angela and get her to play with Jade while you do some training with Milo.

Aye I might have to do the leave one in van trick til I get him to at least learn the basics

Jades pretty good really the only prob I had with her is the not coming back when other dogs there but can work on that.

I've found for last pees taking them out 1 at a time is easier

Yes you are probably right about the last pee, it is better not to have distractions and playmates!
You will need to be careful if you have to leave one shut in the van that they don't start being destructive.
Getting Milo to come in the beginning, start in the van but then you could move outside but attach a 30 ft light training line to his collar (parachute cord ), then combine that with the clicking.
You really need to establish the "come" behaviour from the word go as if Jade asserts a bad influence you really will have difficulty getting him to co-operate.

Our two may be a bit unusual in that they each have their own food bowl and position for them. They will not eat out of the others bowl even if they've left a bit for later.
It might be a bit of a breed thing, certainly not the case with any labrador I've met.

Morning campers

It sounds like something from wildlife on one here today between growling and chewing , they've been rolling around since they got me up ( or should I say milo got me up ) at 7.15 and they are now both chomping on synthetic pigs ears.

So ..we are going to visit caravaca de la cruz today...supposed to be lovely architecture and a holy city up the hill so will see whst we can see.

Just in case you were desperate for puppy pics this will tide you over lol

Loving the photos of Milo and Jade !
Looks like you will have great adventures together!

Can’t get your vids to play Tam!
Love the pics tho & Milo has already lost that slightly wottied look that dogs without a stable home have.

I thought after taking them both out separately for pees at 7.30 and both having done one id be safe to have a shower in peace.

I come out the shower somehow milo gas got on the floor not sure if he jumped or jade pushed him lol ..But I'm there naked as a Lord drying myself and milo decided to poo ...I'm shouting noooo ya bugger
I'm then still naked scooping that up in a poo bag and wiping floor when he cocks his leg and pees on the side of the bloody fridge.

I'm going daft telling him He's a naughty puppy and the tail is going 20 tae 1

What have I let myself in for .......maybe a goldfish would have been better

Tam, next doggy lesson for you:. with young puppies movement ((playing, running around) stimulates bowel movement, as does eating -it's like if something goes in,then something has to come out (immediately) to make room for it - as you've discovered :sick:o_O

Male dogs (and children) always take longer to train bowel and bladder wise.
I also can't see your videos, the post just seems to be some sort of Faceache screen shot, you need to post them here or perhaps a link to YouTube Lots of people don't use Faceache
