Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

OMG I'm getting fed up with this thread. Sunshine, lovely views, good food, good company and now I have to say happy birthday.

Difficult to keep smiling with so much envy raging round in my head.

Oh alright then.:D2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY and may the sun keep shining.:):):)

Lucky sod.;)

Well I got directions from Sharon last night so I could find her place near calpe and it's only up the same bloody mountain I took franky up last year lol....
I've drove past her house twice as it's on a 45° incline lol and nowhere to park a motorhome. I'm having to abandon Toby down the bottom of her street and I'm still nervous about leaving it parked on the steep hill I'm on .....I pray my handbrake is good or I'll be homeless shortly as if he rolls back he's going off a cliff lol.View attachment 284000 View attachment 284001

Cracking view from up here though View attachment 284002
What! You have a German van without wheel chocks, I thought they were standard in Hymer's all our vans came with them.:)

Hope you are not going to Germany, legal requirement to use wheel chocks when parked on a slope for vehicles over 3.5t.

Is that all vehicles over 3.5t or just those with air brakes, in case of a leak?

What is the definition of slope?

Do the 'chocks' have to be purpose-made wedges or will a baulk of timber or a brick suffice and how many wheels have to be chocked?

Geoff

[EDIT Just seen this is being covered on another thread

You are not alone on that one. I generally just leave in low gear,as well as handbrake, but will use the chocks/levellers as well if on very steep slope in future.

I only used them in my mum's drive so I didn't have to leave van sat with handbrake on.

I've only used my levellers I bought last year on 2 occasions up till now

It’s your birthday again!!!! , comes round so quick LOL , it was only two weeks ago that I read it was your birthday In

Nobody yet mentioned steering hard over so vehicle goes towards kerb or in Tams case wall, in case of failure. Edit. Just read the other thread and wheels turned in advised.
