Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Well I had a very pleasant night at arbroath ...Nice walk this morning then a nice drive back to mums....how much nicer toby is to drive now with the suspension fixed and all the other little niggles...all in all I was chuffed with a trouble free trip lol

Gets back to mums im draining the waste tank and emptying the fresh tank to flush all the tank cleaner out and when i was taking the cap of the fresh tank I moved the pipe from the pump and got soaked lol

The bloody non return valve I fitted in Germany last October has split ....its a miracle it hadn't leaked water all over the place...

I've been to local plumbers and motor factors and can't get one here ...
So ive ordered a couple on ebay ...fed up with cheap plastic so ive ordered aluminium ones and hopefully they will be less fragile

Will have to just join pipes meantime till it arrives

I've not known anyone have as rotten luck as you Tam! If this is karma, you must have been very naughty in a former life!!
I hope you have paid it all off before you leave for your next adventure and your luck changes for the better.

Yep I've said for years i could write a book on my mishaps but no bugger would believe it

Just got soaked again taking the broken non return valve off as all the water beyond it returned with a vengeance ...

Piece of cheap crap ....why do they make these things so fragile?
Think it cost around €10 aswell

I'm replacing it with one of these instead

Had to read your post #7951 a second time to see how you got sprayed with water - you had fitted the non return valve above the hatch. I fitted mine inside the tank, just above the pump. I removed a short length of the pipe (the length of the valve, allowing for the sleeping of the pipe/jubilee clips) so that the pump still sits upright on the tank floor. I like the aluminium non return valves, though not had any problem with my plastic one which has been in for about 6 years now.

what size did you get mate. I may get one to belt and braces 😷
Its 10mm ....2 for about £5.50

It certainly made a difference to my system when I fitted one...but i suspect the one on the pump is faulty.

I didnt think there was enough room on mine to fit it between pump and lid hence fitting it outside

Decided today to delete my Facebook account ...i only ever joined it after meeting a few folk on my first trip to Spain 2 years ago but to be honest I find the majority of people on it extremely annoying lol

Anyway I've deleted it so anyone on here that had me as a friend on there and now noticed I've disappeared....thats why 👍

Years ago I went on it to keep in contact with family... six months in and I realised I didn’t like most of them.... it was the worst six months of my life never going back on....

Was doing a shop at asda this morning and for the first time I've started a wee stockpile for my travels ....mostly things I found harder to find in europe like tinned soup , jars of cooking sauces , diluting juice etc ....ill pick up a few more next week etc

Also thinking its handy to have a back up supply just incase of lockdowns or having to quarantine etc ...bit more preparation than usual...getting a supply of paracetamol and ibuprofen also

Not so sure of this one though but I guess we will have to get used to it

Glad there are no Farm Food outlets near by as i'd be even more of a porker!

Lockdown was ok, until I lost one of my dogs, now the other howls when i leave him, my getting out and and burning calorie time is very much reduced at the moment.

Sorry to here you have lost one of your dogs, the remaining one will be feeling very lost and insecure without his companion.
The two of you will just have to spend more time exercising together 😁
