Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Had you made it a pound I might've joined in but I really dont think its the ££££ with Tam but more the principle. We stopped at a local village store today for an ice cream, they had none but had magnums for £2 each. Given you can get 16 for a fiver from Farmfoods we declined. Something I guess Tam would do too.
Yep thats it

I'm happy to pay what something is worth but I won't just pay any daft price folk think up

Bit of differance to the buying power of a multi national and a corner shop..BUSBY.
Not really! IF the shopkeeper was wise, bought 16 from Farmfoods then sold them individually. Look at the mark up. Some folk have more money to spend than others so squander it more.

many people would say you & me are mad for spending 10’s of thousands on a new motorhome when you could convert a van/bus for a fraction of the price , we all spend our money differently ,
no rights or wrongs 😁

I'm not spending mine, I'm spending mums, or getting her to spend it more like

So if you are out for the day and just fancy a magnum you buy 16 from Farmfoods, eat one and let the rest melt as you haven't got a freezer in your pocket/handbag? :giggler:
Aaaah but if your out in the van, theres a freezer in there (y)

Ignoring the fact that they’ve got ‘not for resale’ on them.
You can’t compare corner shop to supermarkets.
Go to Booker as see how much a box of Magnum costs, believe me, it ain’t a fiver!

Its actually illegal to split many multi-packs and sell them individually..BUSBY.

Do I look like I've EVER let an ice cream melt and not eaten it 😉

Only if someone reports it and can prove it apparently....all the juice sold in the takeaway i work in comes from tesco across the street 😉 all multipacks and their markup is crazy £1.10 for a can and £2.70 for a 2 litre bottle lol

Big difference between Magnums and lookalikes I suspect.
Yeah you're right there

Easy usually to prove as it states the fact on tins of Coke for example and have seen it on other products.Doubt though it would be serious enough to bother,,,,BUSBY.

I've often wondered about that "multipack, not for individual resale" thing. Surely if you've bought the product, it is now yours to do with as you wish ?

Only for the first buyer

It sure is. I used to do it all the time when I had my vending machine business. Actually worked out better than using cashncarry for a lot of products plus I got lots extra morrison points. :-)

Wife's father used to buy baked beans & other stuff from Tesco, peel the price labels off & sell them in his shop. Cheaper than buying from Bookers.
