Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Don't know what happened with that post, I started a reply to your earlier post about Sanlucar but abandoned it because I wanted to attach a photo.

Sanlucar is the home of Manzanilla considered by many, including me, to be the finest dry sherry.

Nice photo. Got a lot going on it. Very atmospheric.

I always liked it, that is a digital copy of a large 3ft x 2 ft enlargement of the original 35mm photo, it hung in our house when we had one for many years, in daughters attic at the moment:)

Parked last night here .....nice little spot with a garden and a beach just outside huelva...

And I'm in huelva city tonight....didn't realise when I parked here earlier that id actually parked in the same spot last year when my clutch had packed in on franky...I spent a weekend here...God knows why.

You say "God knows why" I suspect you're a closet Christian Tam! All these photos of churchs and hiking to shrines at the top of mountains - you won't be able to hide your secret much longer. ;)(y)
Meanwhile if you are getting bored, you can always look in back here, coz a window on my van has accidently got smashed (the one where you have your Saltire). And my main skylight that I wrecked a couple of years ago is needing some attention.
I have great faith in your abilities Tam.
So if you fancy coming back this way from Portugal you'd be very welcome . :sneaky::)

Can't see it ..might be on a forum I don't have access to.

Never mind I only noticed he was banned on here when I logged in and was just being nosey.

I got banned from Facebook today for 7 days due to a stupid man with a dog post and a fake profile ....appealed and still got banned blooming idiots.

Thinking of deleting my face book acount all together as way to many crazy people on there.

Faceache & Twatter can only end in tears,IMHO, look at how people especially the youngsters, get abused & bullied on it, some are some so heavily affected they take their own lives FCS.
"Social Media" has become like real life to thousands, which of course was always the goal at the outset, to get everyone worldwide to spend as much of their lives on it, just to sell more advertising.
Saw on Countryfile last Sunday, there are now family "detox" holidays being offered to parents in the UK, places that confiscate all electronic devices on entry and only return them when they leave.
It seems its the only way to get kids to actually see & hear whats in front of them without distraction, and get them involved in learning and developing social skills to work as a team.
Incredible isnt it for things to have gone as far as they have.

Best wishes Tam, Portugal soon I guess, TinaL's son is going back there in October to hit the waves season, apparently its the best time for surf boarding.

Oh just while I remember Tam, I've finally been issued my new Spanish registration plates for the camper and it's new Spanish log book and a couple of other bits of paper, so that was another €8oo.
The invoice and receipt are to follow.
So that's been a total of €1800.
All I need do now is to use it lol. (y) :p

Here's a couple of pics from the last day or two....And a screenshot where I'm parked now.....other side of the river is Portugal

Looks busy now it's summer holidays
It's mobbed now ....but I'm out at 9 till 11am with the dogs while its cooler then we go hide in Toby somewhere till teatime lol.

I have to admit I'm not so keen on the coast in the summer months , too crowded for me I only come to the coast because it's a bit cooler usually and the dogs can go in the water.

A different inland route into Portugal from where you are would be to take the A499 on the Spanish side of the Guadiana north and to Sanlucar de Guadiana, small town with an Aire, onto Pomerao, Aire next to bend in river. Cross over bridge into Portugal and Minas de Sao Domingo, Mertola, Alcoutim all with Aires and worth a visit. Follow the river down to Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo Antonio then onto the Algarve which from all accounts will be rammed at this time of the year, one of the reasons we are back in the UK.
Along the Guadiana is one of my favourite drives.

Was in Isla Crista in June..Really liked the town and the miles and miles of lovely beach.BUSBY.

The beaches are beautiful till around 11am and then you can't see them for parasols and deck chairs till around 9.30pm

I can see the beauty in little isolated bays and rocky coves but once you've seen one long stretch of sand, especially if it has a back drop of blocks of high rise apartments what is there to get excited about?
Give me the beauty of nature's creations any time.
It's a good job we are all different or those ghastly beaches would be even more crowded lol (y):ROFLMAO:

No high rise much along that stretch of coast where Tam is..BUSBY.

So after our morning walk along the beach we headed in to Portugal.
First few pics was sunset last night and the beach this morning looking over to Portugal villa real sant Antonio, then the bridge and border. Stopped at the free aire at castro Marim and had a walk up to the castle and around town ...then drove to villa real sant Antonio had considered staying there but wasn't keen on the spots so we are on the coast just West of monte gordo
Last pics are from villa real looking back to the beach we were on in Spain this morning.
