I don't think it would be animals Tam for a start they would be heard in distress by passers-by and 2nd if they're heartless enough to put animals in a drain they would just wring their necks or kill them with a weapon of some type

Normally I'd agree but you get some really sick people here , I've seen and heard of them hanging dogs from trees and fences with their toes just touching the ground so they die slowly and other cases of them being pegged out and left in the sun , mouths taped up etc

So nothing would surprise me .

Yeah that's why I've not opened it yet .. its quite quiet here but there are apartments that overlook where I'm parked. So having watched too many TV shows lol the person may well be able to see the manhole from his house .

It's very odd and very suspicious.

It's not a drain either but a small manhole next to a lamp post there's one at every lamp post

If it’s anything serious and you tamper with the evidence the authorities won’t thank you and it could be just your word you did not put it there.

On the other hand it’s nothing, but if it was nothing why was driven to that location that is clearly know to the individual.

I’ll say it again, police or walk away.

No idea why on earth the guy opened the manhole to dump an old car battery especially when there are literally a dozen huge big bins behind my camper , but that's what it was. It may well be modified and under the flap is drugs or summit but it looks normal and is heavy so we just left it there.

But people do the weirdest things ...I can't understand why if he was going to dump a battery he didn't just put it in or beside the bins. Why go to the bother of lifting a manhole cover?

Very strange , but anyway I'm going to move to moriar I think. I've spotted a carpark there with a review from our very own irnbru so after lunch I'm gonna go check that out for tonight's stop
