Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Lenny has nipped out to the dentist. I've been under the van meanwhile and checked the waste gate, it doesn't look that old. Certainly not the age of the van. Not sure if it was sticking or not as I only tried to move it by hand and it didn't move, so I gave everything a good spray with wd40 while I googled it , found someone saying a 17mm spanner fitted over the bracket so back under with one of those , and it seems to move OK. So no idea if it was sticky and fixed or if it wasn't the problem anyway. I guess I'll find out when I drive it later.

If not the issue then I'm not sure what it Is. If by some stroke of luck it was only sticking a little and now isn't great but I'm doubting it.

Our morning walk around Arundel, lovely wee town that I wish I'd had longer to explore it. Good park up too despite being roadside. Very quiet overnight. Although I don't think it will last long as a few full time vans there with stuff outside which looks a mess .

If you like Chinese my mate Will owns the best Chinese ever, China Palace just up the hill opposite the castle entrance.
He does do take away also🤤🤤🤤🤤
I have been known to drive from mine 25 min away to get one 😁😁

Too late now I'm at lennys for dinner then heading to Newhaven overnight as on boat in morning .

Was a lovely town that though , my kind of place

Yes is a nice place, very good walks up along the downs.
I'll definitely be revisiting that area. I said to lenny earlier I think on my next trip south I might spend a couple of weeks exploring the south as I've not really done it but I like these old medieval style towns with the half wood houses etc , there are some lovely places Down here it's just finding flt parkups that's difficult

The south of England was too congested for us when we were there 3 years ago, and as FLTs it was a nightmare, even trying to find somewhere to park during the day. We gave up after a few days and headed up north as fast as we could.
I have often thought the Midlands gets overlooked as a destination. There are some lovely old towns and villages, canals and rivers, woodland, steam railways, etc.

Same here in the Derbyshire Dales, absolutely beautiful (y)

We love England and always stop for a few days on our way to & from Europe
So many beautiful places to visit, and always met very friendly people wherever we went

That was probably the hill near Rhuallt just after St Asaph assuming you were on the A55. That is quite a slog up that long incline but it's definitely worth giving your wastegate a wiggle to check it's moving freely.

That's me parked up at Newhaven and you wouldn't believe it but I'm parked right next to my old 2003 burstner argos 747. I sold in 2010 . What are the chances of that

That looks like you are in a camping ground?
That photo is of my old burstner, probably the last campsite I was ever on , a week before I sold that van.

I'm parked up next to it just now at Newhaven port . If the folk are still around in the morning I'll see if it's the same couple from Perth I sold it too

I thought I must have been mistaken. I know how you love to hate campsites, same as me.

Incidentally guys this is the link to the next part of my trip on polarsteps as I want to keep Ireland separate from Spain.

Can I ask the 200 and odd people who follow my polarsteps to please leave a like etc on each post when they view it as at the moment there's probably only about 3 folk that ever do and it just often feels like a waste of time and data posting pics etc on it when I'm not even sure people are viewing them. They aren't always exactly the same pics I post on here.

I'd also appreciate any folk that use Instagram @the_boondockin_bums to give me the odd like and follow on there too as I'm trying to build that up . It don't cost nowt but it does make it feel more worthwhile posting stuff If I think folk are actually viewing it

Ta in advance.

That was Pitlochry, you can actually see my 3 little horrors in the background climbing up the witches hat .

Think it was about £12 per night at the time with electric lol
